I am aware this video is very old now so idk if anyone will see this but,
My family, Myself included, is quite aprehensive about "real" carbonara because of the raw egg that doesn't really seem to get cooked, just sort of warmed a bit.

Is there any trick to getting over the thought of the raw egg? :S

If you prefer? No… the water for cooking pasta should be as salty as the sea (no not all that salt goes into the pasta) .. SALT YOUR PASTA WATER

Why caveat the basil when you have butchered almost every other aspect of a Carbonara? At least you didn't use cream…

"ten, twelve minutes, no more" when i made this, it took me 45 minutes.

I'm not Italian, & I've made Carbonara many times… Unless you are using cream, garlic is totally unnecessary. Or what I mean is: I've made it with garlic, onions, parsley – multiple times. Those things do not improve a Carbonara. The only essentials, to me, are egg, pepper, parmesan, & meat. Adding garlic or herbs totally changes the overall flavor.

Is there anything quick I could do with the egg white so it doesn't go to waste?

  11. @thequiry6493

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

This is just carbonara with onion and sausage

  12. @alessandrodaiello3443

An Italian person just died watching how you check the pasta

  14. @christophersimpson738

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

No garlic, ricotta not parmesan, pancetta or other rather than sausage and bacon.

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

Why did you chop the tip of the cheese and not use it?

  22. @7777fabri

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

I am Italian and I can say with certainty that this is not a pasta with Italian carbonara. There is no such thing in italy.

  23. @MinasTirith82

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

WHY???? WHY???????? Are you serious? This is not a carbonara.. This is a piece of shit.. Really.. Try to imitate something that are similar with the ORIGINAL ITALIAN recepie..

  24. @MatejHargas

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

Really proud of you for not splashing cream into the sauce. Romans are happy! 😃

  25. @shadodragonette

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

love the idea, but wish you had something to focus on ppl with very little space and almost no gadgets… 3 roughly 2'x2' counters, a slow cooker, a few pots, pans, and skillets, and a couple of baking dishes. not all non-stick, not all anything except well used by now. frozen foods, dried and/or canned foods, and low budgets. you started out low-budget, so far as i can tell from what i've seen. healthier than ramen, cheaper than going to fast food… And my son will need such recipes next year, when he starts college!

  31. @lammie89

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

What do u do with the egg white then? Could we just use a whole egg?

  32. @muhammadnazhif3812

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

im sry if wrong im only 15 but wont u get salmonella?

  33. @ilir1989

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

I don't understand why you didn't use the egg whites. They are used in the traditional carbonara recipe!

  34. @EBIXone

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

That's not a carbonara, the only right ingredient you put is the egg (one is not enough but whatever). Everything else is wrong but it still look tasty so good job anyway ye

  35. @jungkookieinfiresme7838

    January 7, 2024 at 2:43 am

And then the herbs are added…
