there's really only a few meals in this world better than mussaka. it just heaven on a plate. i need to try it out with sweet potatos! but in my version there's always a layer of zucchini on the bottom. 🙂

i have eaten a vegan version of moussaka, and it was AMAZING

  14. @MeTaLkA

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

GREEK Moussaka is traditionally lined with aubergine! Many nations have Moussaka! For instance, Bulgarian is normal potatoes and a meat mixture with milk sauce… Btw try cutting the potatoes into small cubes and layer it – potatoes, meat, potatoes, milk. After the potatoes are tender put a mixture of egg and bulgarian yogurt… 🙂

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

Can you make another version plz I like the sound of this dish

  16. @inbari666

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

That's not even close to the Moussaka i know :O and it's not Kosher! could you try doing a recipe for your Jewish viewers? 🙁

  17. @bbqoz

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

Mousakka traditionally has nothing to do with a bechamel shouce worchestershire sauce, wine or sweet potatoes

  18. @johnnypooncy

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

I don't like any meat wi sweet potato

  19. @4Nn1E

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

Wow, that's a lot like lasagna

  20. @lirgoodrich1323

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

this is not in any way a moussaka apart from the aubergine in it but it sure looks tasty !

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

This looks absolutely delicious! I'm one of those weird people that aren't a fan of cinnamon with their lamb…. So would probably swap it for nutmeg! Mmmmm.

  27. @KrisiMD

When I make bechamel sauce for a lasagne I precook the milk with onion, garlic and …. Wait …. What is it in English… A little bit of nutmeg. Makes the perfect bechamel!!!

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

+SORTED Food The original version of mousaka is made with the eggplant sliced and baked in the oven and then some potatoes (the choice of sweet potato was very smart). Then for the structure you first put the potatoes on the bottom, then the sliced eggplant, then the mince and finally the cream with some cheese on the top.

  29. @RoulinBrooks

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

"In other areas of the world it's known as eggplant."  Nice!  Better than the usual U.S.-centric "In America it's known as eggplant."  Beautiful recipe.  A lot of work, though.

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

Ben once cooked this, let cool and freeze, how do you reheat/cook again from frozen? cheers!

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

Didn't you guys make a recipe really similar to this in the past?? You could've done a #tbt and I wouldn't have even noticed .

  32. @bananaramar

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

When making the white sauce, adding English mustard into the butter and flour mix before adding milk, adds more taste. My family always does it and without mustard it taste bland.

  33. @Isaboeefe

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

Loved the recipe mainly cause of the sweet potato twist! 🙂

  34. @emilieedginton8774

    January 25, 2024 at 5:34 pm

When Ben took out the cooked Mousaka, it looked like he pulled it out of his pants. I really don't know how it would fit into those red shorts.
