Do you have any idea what the word "weird" means?

It is all your fault, all three of you (and the invisible ones behind the cameras too). . . Amazon just delivered pandan coconut jam. Tasted wonderful. But – who or where did I see this and how did they use it? After several many many rabbit holes, I found this video (again). Yes! Also explains something else on my saved wish list, lol. Thank you!

Marmalade as an accompliment on a cheese board is awesome. Particularly good with a tasty cheddar cheese.

I’m appalled at your inference that marmalade is only for old people. I’m only 68 years old and have marmalade every night, or, I should say morning, as I practice bi-phasic sleep. I arise around 1 am each morning and have a plunger coffee and English muffin with marmalade, returning to bed around 2.30 am.

"This is unicorn blood." Congrats, since you ate it you will have a cursed life, a half life. 😛

I've used orange or mixed fruit marmalades to make sauces, dips and dressings for 40 years. lol

The marmalade sponge reminds me of my family’s traditional Hogmanay steamed pudding, which has marmalade in the cake and scotch and marmalade custard sauce on top. It’s a fantastic combination.

    December 20, 2023 at 10:48 pm

Mix the marmalade with a butter pound cake batter. Yum!
Could you use the coconut spread as a caramel in a brule or pannacota(spelling)?
The expresso spread has to go on a double chocolate brownie!

Quite a bit over 50 now – but I’ve had marmalade and jam in the fridge since I started living on my own with 19. (Before, I ate Mum’s jam in her fridge.)

Southeast Asia represent!!! I am shocked I missed this video after years, and when I saw this video, I knew that Kaya is guaranteed to be on the list.

In fact, Kaya is so exclusive to SEA that my friend has sent Kaya to friends in Japan and America and they have never seen it… And they all LOVE IT ❤️

To add on, we normally spread Kaya on toast. It is a common spread just like you guys spread ham over bread.

The unicorn blood reminded me of historical alchemists, apothecaries, chefs, and the like where their ingredients lists sounded entirely bonkers and out there (I'm thinking of an ancient Chinese precursor to ice cream-like desserts where one of the ingredients was "dragon brain shard") but they were just code words for perfectly mundane, albeit potentially rare/r to obtain, items (i.e. an ancient contraceptive (the culture of which I've forgotten now) that called for "alligator excrement", but what it actually was was mud or clay from a certain region of Ethiopia) and I am in stitches

I must have been over 50 , 55 years ago.

Kaya, use on Toast as a thick spread and 1 chunk of Thawing Butter. The toast has to be hot enough to help the Butter Thaw.

Do a ultimate battle, but they have to cook with the ingredient they dislike the most. challenging them to create a dish that can turn their food fears into a food heaven

It's not Ben's nut butter, it's his spread seed!

    nobody under 50 buys marmalade…bullshit

  23. @mb5326

    December 20, 2023 at 10:48 pm

Tou'd probably have to order it from the States, but watermelon jelly is amazing. Toss some basil in to make it a little more confusing.

Since the tender age of 15 i have been eating marmelade. I am 45 now, bite me!!! I'll probably bite back.

I really want kaya toast now 😋

  26. @MichaelJohnsonAzgard

    December 20, 2023 at 10:48 pm

You Londoners may not buy marmalade but the rest of the country does, because we're normal.

  27. @ShadowDrakken

    December 20, 2023 at 10:48 pm

I still want to know how to properly use mint jelly and lemon custard… cause come on, wtf are they for? I love lemon, but lemon custard tastes almost nothing of lemon, and outside of lamb what would you EVER use mint jelly for?

  28. @BobVosh

    December 20, 2023 at 10:48 pm

I'm 36 and I make marmalade for my toast.

  29. @tunneloflight

    December 20, 2023 at 10:48 pm

Some other ingredients. Lingonberry, bilberry, cloud berries, tayberries, barberry, aronia, mulberry, highbush cranberry, kinnick kinnick, pineapple guava, cornelian cherry (red and yellow), Korean bush cherry, Australian mint bush, lemon verbena, Yerba mate, heart nuts, buartnuts, red elderberry, blue elderberry, thimbleberry, red huckleberry, honey berry, black currants, hops (various types, especially citra, chinook, centennial, …), orange muscat grapes, and rose muscat grapes

  30. @salamilady9858

    December 20, 2023 at 10:48 pm

I'm about as white as you can get, but my stepmum grew up in Singapore and introduced me to kaya! It's bloody amazing. Got me to like salted plums as well.

  31. @liadhainsmith

    December 20, 2023 at 10:48 pm

The Kaya I've tried was smoother, and had no Pandan. But its eaten on toast, topped with cold butter chunks. Then on the side soft boiled eggs with black pepper and soy sauce, dip that in there 😍 or at least how I was introduced.

But on toast alone is beautiful.
