Once again recipe says “not found” is there anywhere I can find the recipe? Don’t say the app it doesn’t come up. Don’t say the cookbooks they also don’t have it.

One thing my family often does with fried is, if you've ever seen like chicken broth in powdered form, toss a pinch (or more) of that in. Weirdly enough, it's not uncommon to use that as seasoning in Chinese households. Just a tip if you make this at home, I'd replace the five spice with this. You don't need to add salt if you do this, it tastes the same.

Dammit Lucy you didn't teach them how to cook the rice??? 6 years on and they're STILL cooking it wrong 😑😑 and no. 5 spice doesn't go into rice. We only use it as a marinade for meats. Wwhhhyyyy internal screaming

Tail end of the beansprouts need to be snapped off before going in. Mother would have been screaming at me if that was served like that…

In India, Rock Sugar is called 'Kalkhand' and it's quite popular. Albeit, we normally don't cook with it (there might be a few communities that do), just gnaw on it 🙂

Yes, 1-day old rice is usually best for fried rice. In the Philippines, we call it "Sinangag". Put it in the fridge then the next day before cooking it, make it room temperature. Usually we Filipinos like to experiment and add sorted meats and veggies to it. Goes great with butter and toasted garlic! 🙂

Helpful tip: When cooking Asian food, use oyster sauce! My mom uses it in almost every dish and it makes her fried rice delicious! (Also sweet chinese sausage in there makes it even better)

  36. @loveboundz

    January 14, 2024 at 9:09 am

I usually crack in the eggs last for my fried rice because:
    1. Eggs cook real fast and I don't want any burnt eggs in my fried rice
    2. It will ensure some awesomely egg coated fried rice

    Just my personal preference:)

I always finds it odd that people in the west are eating rice using fork. Hahaha. I always like, "Wouldn't that make eating it harder?" since I've tried it and failed miserable at eating rice using fork. But I guess they'll find it odd too that people in the east are using either spoon, chopsticks, or hand to eat rice. How fascinating!

  38. @wanp5232

Fried rice is best cooked with rice left overnight in the fridge! The less moisture there is in the rice, the better it tastes!

Pretty much everyone here in Iran has their tea with small bits of rock sugar or cubes of sugar ^-^
BTW, isn't that rice too hard to eat? I only like rice Persian style 🙂

Poor little Ben. For some reason I can see some dark future where everyone's got annoyed with Ben and left him and he carries on doing videos by himself but his hair's all scruffy cos he's too depressed to comb it, man I really don't know what w what my brain is right now.
