But here is the problem: when the same people making these dramatic statements also hold enormous platforms, command millions of followers, and spend the remainder of their time actively shaping public opinion about the state of the nation — the consequences of that rhetoric extend far beyond a simple venting of frustration. Words from powerful people carry weight. They shape narratives. And when those narratives consistently paint an apocalyptic picture of a nation in terminal decline, the cumulative effect on public discourse is significant and measurable.
🎙️ The Politician’s Paradox — Criticising the System You Profit From
Perhaps the most intellectually interesting version of this contradiction involves not celebrities, but politicians themselves. Here we find individuals who have built entire careers within the American political system — who have drawn government salaries, enjoyed taxpayer-funded benefits, wielded legislative power, and accumulated both wealth and influence through the very institutions they publicly condemn.
