The actor Sam Neill, known for his roles in the Jurassic Park films and Peaky Blinders, has died aged 78.

His family says “the loss was sudden and unexpected”, adding he died in Sydney “surrounded by family, and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life”

In 2023, Neill said he had been diagnosed with cancer, but in April this year revealed he was cancer free,

Rollercoasters have triggered some new iPhones to make emergency calls.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), at one US amusement park the plummeting rides activated the phones’ crash detection system.

The feature was introduced in the new iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8, Ultra and SE with the latest OS.

Apple told the newspaper the technology is intended to provide “peace of mind” and will continue to improve over time.

Heartstopper has been praised since it first aired in 2022 for the way it has sensitively dealt with a number of topics that many teenage and young adult viewers will be familiar with – such as sexual identity, mental health and bullying.

The series is now coming to an end with Heartstopper Forever, a feature-length film.

And the two main protagonists, Kit Connor (Nick) and Joe Locke (Charlie) both even served as producers on the film.

The pair spoke to the BBC about queer love, acting as producers and whether they’ll work together again in the future.
