i don't agree manual workers like me are burned out I paid my full stamp and now i have to wait till 66 i think this is theft they have stolen 10.000 of me it's a crime

I think they should look more at investing into semi-retirement before full retirement. It would also let people get slowly adapted to retirement rather than working full time and all of a sudden not working. It would sound better if you could semi-retire at 65 and then full retirement at 68.

It's easier to keep the hard working for longer than getting the lazy bastards that don't work to get them to work. Unbelievable.

It was done for money , waiting until I’m 66 has cost me £7.700 so multiply that by the hundreds of thousands of others and you get money to pay for the scrounging bas*ard illegal immigrants , it’s all been planned ….

I've been drawing my pension now for 3 years. I still work because I choose to. I've worked for 53 years and in that time had a total of 9 months out of work. I paid in since I was 16. I'm 69 now.. All this government wants is for people like me to drop dead 3 months or so before we retire to save em a fortune. Moving the age is a way of achieving this

I'm getting on now and most of my family and friends have died before 68 where are they getting these statistics from?

I had to sell my home and now rent due to ill health,no benefits. and no pension at 60 yrs which I expected. 7 years to wait for that pension that I paid into….
Why are the government taking so much national insurance from working people when they will not get a pension if the age rises to 70 which is planned. That N.I could help people get a private pension. NHS waiting times are dreadful so that part of N.I isn't helping the ageing population.

What a corrupt and vile country we now live in. Disgusting.

OK to spend £7m a day on unwelcome illega migrant though. No way should we be nearing 70 to retire and certainly no way should they change these rules when most have already prepared for a 65ish retirement. Time to watch the French.

Nobody knows when its going to be their time many wont see a pension, Or be able to enjoy any freedom. it's modern slavery work till you drop.

I can't imagine working until 68. I am 41 and already get some pains here and there although I consider myself very healthy person. I am still very young.
Looking at my parents, who are now 68 and 69. I can't see them working till this age. Althought in exceptionally good helth compared to others this age, they get tirrd very easily, they can't stand for too long, their eyesight is weak, their hearing is very weak and many more things. Fortunately they retired at their early sixties.

Just announced the uk has the lowest life expectancy in the G7 apart from the Usa. Guess they will be lowering the age back to 65 ? Nope didnt think so .They only Hike the Age regardless of Data. Weasly way to get out of paying pensions. Thats all it was .

Work to you drop dead with this tory government at least the French people have some backbone and protest against the rise.

  20. @Leoviliti1

    January 17, 2024 at 5:18 pm

Life expectancy may be better but jeez the quality of life isnt!
So many more having chronic conditions or cancers etc . ..and it's only due to medical intervention that they are preventing earlier deaths..they're still Suffering!
Not many will be able to have any fulfilling enjoyment from retirement …as it's basically work til you drop .
    That's inhumane..

  21. @user-ho8ds7my7l

    January 17, 2024 at 5:18 pm

Well it means. Take to the streets in mass, demonstrations. That what it means. We are no longer putting up with this, don't be fools. They say we living longer. It's a joke people dying much younger. Now

  22. @mramg6038

    January 17, 2024 at 5:18 pm

My dad always told me – plan your life on the assumption there is no state pension. Anything you then get is a bonus. The age has increased from 65 to 68 during my last 10 years employment. I'm sure over the coming 30 it will vanish entirely. I'm fully aware my current "contributions" are actually just paying for those currently "enjoying" the state pension. Otherwise, I'd expect an annual investment report or something that demonstrates my pension investment is ringfenced. Quite noticably this isn't the case…

What a absolutely load of rubbish try being a bricklayer till your 70 years old/ physically demanding job it’s ok for the politicians to say this because they don’t work OUTSIDE IN THE COLD WEATHER AND have a very cushy life subsidies by us the taxpayers

  24. @bobhope3817

    I will not comply
Stealing from the old to fund migrants and other government failures like net zero it's just a scam

The Polish retire at 60 they will not let any refugees in to their Country.

  26. @markwright130

    January 17, 2024 at 5:18 pm

I'm 56 and now part time with a pension and living the dream. The government wants people like me to go back to full time and pay for the illegals and net zero, not a chance in hell

    January 17, 2024 at 5:18 pm

Medicine and NHS has improved has it! Look at old footage on YouTube of towns and cities in the 50s and 60s. Everyone is slim, highly mobile and fit. Sit in a high street today and look at the people! They are morbidly fat, waddling, sick, and highly immobile! We are not living longer. This is infant level maths! The rate of childbirth survival has steadily improved, which skews the life expectancy figures.

It needs to be lowered to 62 poeple are not getting back what's paid in .
