My mother had a gadget very very similar to the Slap Chop in the sixties. It was a waste of time then and same now.

Nut milk means something totally different to me ! 🤣

I like that guy that is barley in your episodes. I think he is a chef, skinny tall guy, very down to earth, sounds like a normal human being and is not trying to play like some culinary vagabond. I like the Indian lad as well, also down to earth.

hmmm one cardboard with a thin layer of plastic for a carton of almond milk, or multiple plastic packaging's for each of the 3 ingredients needed to make a glass of milk…

I like the honesty of these "chef free" videos… I also appreciate the Chefs views… I'm seriously torn!

The tastebuds can recognise at least 5 flavours (there are 2 others we think they can taste as well), but the tongue also has olfactory sensors so it can also taste smells too

In my home we frequently use nut and soy milks due to my partners lactose intolerance and my general distaste of dairy milk. I like that such a device exists for making the process of home-brew easier however from a cost stand-point i can tell you from personal experience that while soy-milk is generally cheaper to make at home, making nut milk like almond milk is NOT cost effective (at-least here in the US) at home due to the cost of nuts and specifically almonds – economies of scale are 100% at play and making nut milk is really only viable at the commercial scale.

From a waste-to-cost perspective it can be seen as cost effective since nuts have a very long shelf life but in our experience that is the only scenario in which the financials make sense.

The almond milk gadget reminded me of a recipe i saw in a vitamix recipe book before. I'm pretty sure if you have a strong enough blender, you can make nut milk in it rather than buying the gadget

We all know that almond milk is not milk, it is nut juice.

I believe that the Slap Chop would work better if Mike wasn't sitting down.

  18. @shepshape2585

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

The HUGE problem with the milk maker is the cost of purchase and the cost of making the milk. Just checking the internet, I can buy a quart of almond milk for $2.39. If I drink 1 quart per week, it would take 60 weeks of using this machine…just to pay off the machine. If we're talking strictly almond milk, the cost of the ingredients to make a quart of almond milk with this machine approaches $8-$10. There are many things that I make from scratch at home, guacamole, hummus, salsa, butter and so on, because the cost is usually less for me to make it and I get to make it how I like it with no preservatives or added bad stuff. Plus, fresh is always better. But to spend 4 times as much to make my own almond milk, and that's after the cost of the machine? If they've sold more than three of these things, people are just stupid.

Unlike any other, or will never cashew using one……. Best so far

I wonder if that fork set could make cauliflower and broccoli edible to me. I hate them with a passion, but they're such a good way for people who can eat them to fill up.

I own the slap choppy thingy and it's really great for chopping up nuts to use as a topping. I've never put anything wet like a vegetable in it and I don't think I would

  28. @iamchriswick

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

Watching an absolute idiot not being able to use the Slapchop correctly 😂

  29. @katarzynazofia

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

I am VERY impressed with the Almond Cow, but I have one huge health issue with all the homemade nut milks – they're not fortified, so you're getting zero calcium or vit D etc, then they can't replace the nutrients of the actual milk 😑🚩

  30. @HorthornNZ

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

The slap chop has been around for only about 50 years, different name same product type – needs a plastic insert between the blades to clear the veg – nothing new here.

  31. @Weth_C

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

As far as the nutmilk goes, you would spend over $10 for 4 cups of milk VS a gallong of $5 nut milk premade.

  32. @willardroad

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

Ok, I want that Tipsy Tray. Immediately. Also, it was fun to see a throw-back like the Slap-Chop… it was on infomercials every night sooooo long ago. Fun video!

  33. @felixhenson9926

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

As a powerchair user who always has to have one hand on the controller if i wanna move, I was skeptical of this tipsi tray thing but tbh your demonstration sold me on it and this could be a gamechanger

  35. @briandstephmoore4910

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

He drinks nuts, we'll some how that's not surprising 🤣

  36. @desired397

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

7:30 You can just make almond milk in a blender, its just water and almonds. The only tricky part is straining out all the almond solids that are left over (so you need like cheese cloth or something) which is why I could see this being handy. Then again you probably need to clean the filter a good bit so it seems like a similar amount of work in the long run.

  37. @ethancampbell215

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

The Slap Chop is such a genius for 2 reasons.
    1) it’s such a simple gadget with a simple design that does its job well
    2) it makes what is often a remedial and laborious task of food preparation for a meal into a quick simple task, couple slaps and we have a ‘diced’ pepper or onion, it doesn’t prep food perfectly at restaurant level but for home cooking use it’s brilliant.
Vince is such a majestic salesman and he is so compelling he could probably make me buy all of my internal organs he’s that good, and Jay Swingler used it with his typical extreme energy and constant smile, so after seeing it used in 3 completely different areas I’d be convinced to buy one, especially as prepping food is such a task getting in from work, and this can make it into a quick 2/3 minute job

  38. @colinheyl7245

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

That tipsi tray is actually pretty dang good. My girlfriend is shocking at carrying stuff,

  39. @jamescarson6823

    January 5, 2024 at 1:45 am

That's nowhere close to a tuna melt.

I hate almond milk and almonds in general. They use an insane amount of water to grow. and the "sustainability" argument is annoying and I'm tired of globalists using it to control our lives, but then California has the largest almond farms in the world AND constantly tells people to conserve water because there is a drought. The people who live near them hate them too because the farm is using up all the water in the aquafer causing the town to literally sink.
