Hope there were more speak-outs about Myanmar like in the beginning of 2021, when the military coup started. Most people don't know about the situations here, therefore, the organizations like UN and ASEAN are not taking proper actions since the World has turned their back on us unless there is a large massacre that caused lots of deaths. Also, since the main face of the country, Aung San Suu Kyi is arrested by the military, Myanmar's image under the civil wars can't go out of the country that much without the voice from a person who has bigger influence. Sad truth.

After what Myanmar did to the ethnic rohingyas, I'm surprised anyone allows this military fascist government to be on the world stage. The whole country is hopeless, and the people are undeserving. They allowed massive injustices, are mainly poorly educated, and got brainwashed very easily, there is not much to sympathise with. Even their 'democratic' leader was complicit and rejected by other nobel winners.

The Myanmar ppl can only defeat their military rulers by warfare as all these countless negotiations and diplomacy being done will never bring positive results. Ironically this is the actual problem here. No other country will bother to send their armies in to liberate Myanmar as no country will want to entangle themselves in some foreign war, and we can see from past histories in Iraq and Libya those countries actually became a living hellhole after their authoritarian governments were overthrown. Lets not forget what happened to Afghanistan as well. We can send prayers to Myanmar but really what they need most are weapons. They will have to fight their own war here. Good luck.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

on

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.
