Titanic sub: How oxygen could be conserved on board – BBC News
As the search for the missing OceanGate Titan submarine enters a “critical” stage, what could the passengers on board be experiencing?
Dr Sarah Spelsberg, medical lead on the underwater research mission Project Neptune 100, explains how the experience of three of the five people within the vessel could be helping to conserve oxygen for longer.
Dr Spelsberg also discusses the chances of hypothermia and why decompression of the sub is unlikely, but would be “catastrophic” if experienced.

Thirty US states are suing Meta for over $1 trillion, accusing it of knowingly designing Instagram and Facebook to be addictive and harmful to children, while concealing what it knew.

At least 224 people are dead and a state of emergency has been declared after Colombia was hit by one of its largest earthquakes in years.
The death toll is likely to rise, with more feared trapped under collapsed buildings.
The magnitude 7.4 quake struck at 07:34 (12:34 GMT) at a depth of 103km (64 miles) in Chocó province, the country’s geological service said. It was felt across an enormous area, stretching for hundreds of miles across western Colombia.
Many of the deaths have been concentrated in Cali, Colombia’s third most populous city.

A man has died and thousands of people have been told to evacuate their homes amid torrential rain and flash flooding in Australia’s largest city, Sydney.
Roads have been cut off, with 18 evacuation orders in western Sydney alone and warnings of more to come.
“This is a life-threatening emergency situation,” Stephanie Cooke, emergency services minister for the state of New South Wales, said.

The fact that there are no strong regulations to oversee such activities is a big fail on the side of the government. I don't think the CEO should be blamed as much. A lot of things could go wrong down there that are beyond human control

Yea they can just stop breathing, no worries. so much oxygen. Matter of fact if they just let all the water in they can freeze solid then be brought to the surface and thawed out.

What I find even more sad is the fact that 9 million people die of starvation around the world every year and yet, the world is holding their collective breath for five people in a sub and countries are spending literally millions of dollars per day to search for and recover their remains. Weird, isn't it.
