ANALYSIS OF THE FINAL LOCAL ELECTION RESULTS: https://www.tldrnews.co.uk/localelection
Since we finalized the animation and audio for this video the full results of the election were announced. They were along the same lines as the initial results, so we felt reworking the entire video wasn't necessary. You can find the full breakdown on our website.

It is interesting rehearing this on the first full day of British independence from the EU. Reading local election results seems to be only slightly more helpful in predicting the future than reading tea leaves.

Just shows you can't take much notice of local elections

i like to imagine mr Johnson Boris just tossed some highly classified govermentall documents into random box at his favorite pub and thought thats somehow voting

UKIP did not receive votes in many areas as there were no UKIP councillors standing.

You make the point about the Cuk party and liberals, you do realise the Cuk's were not standing in the locals ?

May undermined democracy and it seems she will get what she wanted which is no brexit at all. The referendum was crystal clear. People voted leave with no ifs, ands, or buts.

The only accurate comparisons you can make about Brexit is in the upcoming EU election.

    December 31, 2023 at 8:27 am

Theresa May is weak as a leader and so are the other politicians, the british people know that there so called "leaders" have betrayed them by the lies and corruption. Lying is a false statement, and UK politicians are not to be trusted at any time.

    December 31, 2023 at 8:27 am

It is interesting that you feel the need to explain what "local election" means. You do in fact think your viewers are morons, do you not, sir?

In due course, a second referendum on Brexit should occur. This must happen after the European elections because the pro-Brexit constituency (headed by Farage etc.), will strive to the utmost to reinforce a positive 'Pro-Brexit' vote and they will more than likely be successful in this (because simple solutions to what are very complex situations are always the easiest and most 'sale-able' options to most voters).
There is no doubt that a so-called hard Brexit is likely to follow after Theresa May is replaced. This will eventually result in the break-up of the UK because Scotland will still definitely vote to remain part of the EU (Scotland voted 62% to remain at the previous UK national refendum). Northern Ireland voted similarly too and it is clear that their opinion on this has not changed. I say this as a Scot who very much believes in the unity of the present UK and wishes this to continue.
Do the Union Jack waving true Brits (i.e. 'Brexit' voters), take this on board – and do they even care, I wonder ?
Do they realize that such a break-up of the UK will mean that physically 'England'/the UK), will lose fully one third of it's present total land mass and more than 10% of it's population, and also that a separate Scotland (as part of the EU), will result in the creation of a 'hard border' (and one not separated by the Irish sea as presently exists between the island of Ireland and the rest of the UK) ?
Such a hard border would be infinitely permeable and impossible to police, resulting in a 'back-door' into the northern areas of England and beyond to any migrants (legal or otherwise), who cared to make the trip.
Have the Farages of this world even begun to take this on board – I doubt it.

Treason May is a disgrace. No PM in history has refused to leave office in the face of such condemnation, votes of no confidence, public outcry and continual defeat. She is a disease. She has humiliated our country on the world stage and still goes to Brussels cap in hand. Uk is an international laughing stock. She deserves sacking with no pension. I will never vote Conservative again. Best bit…she wasn’t even elected.

  16. @oon-huing1729

    December 31, 2023 at 8:27 am

At this point I'm just a bit confused about what "the people" want. The general consensus seems to be that people on all sides of the argument are tired of the whole debacle, but to be honest I'm left not entirely sure what "the people" actually want. It seems to be too variable depending on which part of the internet you're on and everyone seems to assume their position is the majority opinion.

I don't disagree with any of what you said but in regards to ukip you gotta bare in mind that it has had change in leadership which has probs driven some of its more middle ground voters towards other parties. farage is a funny character after all

  22. @robyndaniels1381

    December 31, 2023 at 8:27 am

Please let us know what the turnout was – I would say if there was not more than a 50% turnout then the results are invalid and indicate people are fed up to the teeth with voting and politicians and no longer have any faith in them to deliver anything.

  23. @mjribes

    December 31, 2023 at 8:27 am

Your conclusion that if people wanted the government to hurry up and deliver brexit then they would have voted for UKIP is flawed. In my ward the option was Con, Lab, LibDem or Green. So I didn't vote. And that wouldn't have changed even if UKIP were on the ballot. That's because UKIP have turned to the ugly side of the right. Speaking to similarly minded Brexiteers the narrative is clear: many Brexiteers either stayed away due to no candidate being worth a vote, or they voted for a party they thought wouldn't win their seat – like the Greens. Wait for the EU elections – that'll put your Remain-leaning presumptions in their place.

  24. @ultramage1

    December 31, 2023 at 8:27 am

this nonsense is still going on?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. @MovesLikeJaGa

    December 31, 2023 at 8:27 am

You keep using the lion UKIP logo, that's not their logo anymore, I'm not even sure if it ever officially became their logo. It was too associated with Henry Bolton because it was revealed the day he became leader, and it didn't resonate with voters who thought it looked too much like the Premier League logo. UKIP have now gone back to the pound sign, if you go on their website, you won't see the lion anywhere.

I'm loving your channel and the slight hint of bitchiness towards both major parties and their handling of Brexit. It's very informative of the centre-ish feeling towards those parties.

I'd be very interested in a prediction video for the upcoming EU elections. Well done for all your content Jack and the whole TLDR News team. I look forward to whatever is next.

THE UK LEFT THE EU ON THE 29TH!!! BY LAW!! WHEN WE WON THE LEAVE VOTE ITS WAS AGREED AND WRITTEN UP THAT THE 29TH WOULD BE THE LEAVE DATE, WHAT EVER HAPPENS INBETWEEN, THIS WAS SIGNED BY THE QUEEN HERSELF SO IT IS LAW!! THE GOVERNMENT ARE JUST IGNORING THIS FACT AND SWEEPING IT UNDER THE CARPET!!!! WAKE UP PEOPLE!

  32. @davidsheppard6786

    December 31, 2023 at 8:27 am

@TLDR So was it the LibDems kept their usual LibDem votes while Tory and Labour voters abstained or did they switch as TLDR implied, if they switched then the vote for LibDem would be significantly higher. Or, as I believe, was it the absence of Tory and Labour voters the reason for LibDems success leading you to read a false cause fallacy.

Hey people, you still want elections? That mean the bloody system can continue, no election! No more evil system. We don't need a body to suck our blood. We do not need government we don't need dictator bulley parasites!!!!
