On Thursday night, Boris Johnson announced that he intended to hold a vote on a general election. He wants to start an election race so the parliamentary maths can be shaken up a little. He’s hoping his party can get a majority and he can stop spending time trying to persuade people from all parties to back his Brexit deal. In this video we discuss why the election is being tabled, whether it will happen and what the result would be for Brexit.

So, now the opposition wants school kids and eu citizens help in an election, won´t happen, that would be an eu influenced election and also highly discriminating against all uk citizens living in the eu, who, by uk law, cannot vote in a uk election.16-17 year olds? Why not, as long as they are in full-time employment and paying taxes, otherwise no chance!

The year is 2192. the British Prime Minister visists Brussels to ask for an extension of the Brexit deadline. No one remembers where this tradition originated, but every year it attracts many tourists from all over the world.

    December 31, 2023 at 9:29 am

No he won’t. He is all talk. He know he doesn’t have the support of the people and would lose any election. That’s why he voted against it as did most of the labor party. They don’t want to leave it up to the people

Not a petty narrative at all, Brexit needs sorting and I back Boris.

  10. @EditioCastigata

    December 31, 2023 at 9:29 am

But what's Johnsons play here? Why link elections to voting on the bill? Does he hope to gain a majority to eventually sabotage “the deal” and mitigate what the “surrender act” compelled him to do? How likely are his options?

  11. @elliottking1787

    December 31, 2023 at 9:29 am

Can you do a video on if a General Election were to be called? Is Labor that unpopular? Could the Lib Dems consolidate some of their power but stealing Labor MP seats? Can the same be said about the Brexit party and UKIP stealing MP seats from Conservatives? Possibly of Lib Dems, Labor, Green, and SNP forming a majority?

  12. @F-J.

    December 31, 2023 at 9:29 am

GET RID OF THEM ALL. WE VOTED NO DEAL BREXIT. no mention of deals of any form.

Sod the MPs . It's about the results of the brexit vote.

It will never be agreed to by Remainer MPs because they know they will lose their jobs.

I want an UK demographics calculation, how many elderly have died since 2016 and how many young adults have gained the right to vote, how much have that shifted the remain/leave margin

It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.
