🥊 LEWIS vs BRUNO | 🇬🇧The Battle of Britain🇬🇧 | The Throwback 📺

On October 1, 1993, two of Britain’s biggest heavyweight stars collided at the Cardiff Arms Park. But this wasn’t just another title fight — it was a deeply personal, historic showdown between Lennox Lewis and Frank Bruno.

Lewis had become WBC champion – the first British heavyweight since Bob Fitzsimmons in the previous century! – after Riddick Bowe infamously refused to fight him and relinquished the belt.
Critics questioned the champion. Had he really “won” the title? Could he handle the top guys?

Frank was the nations darling. Even though he had lost two challenges for world honours he had won the hearts of the nation and would have a life-long relationship with fans that few, if any, have come close to.

With a build-up that involved back-and-forths between champion and challenger; Frank questioning Lennox’s title legitimacy as well as his nationality.
The champ firing back at media-heavy Bruno “He makes a fool of himself, dressing up in girls clothing television”. As well as calling him an “Uncle Tom”.

The stage was set and the first heavyweight bout with a world title at stake was good to go.

🥊 It was Lewis vs Bruno and This is The Throwback 📺

🤬”I’m getting ready to PUSH BACK‼️

Throwback to when Bernard Hopkins lost it with Setanta Sports during the build-up to his bout with Wales’ Joe Calzaghe.

The legendary fighter was furious with the conditions at which he was hosted in during his stay in London.

Safe to say a visibly nervous Buncey handled it like a champ.
