It seems possible that the SNP and Scottish Greens are about to form a pro-independence alliance, so we thought we’d run through the arguments in favour of a Scottish exit. So in this video we discuss three major arguments used by those proposing Scottish independence and debate whether those arguments really stand up.

It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.

Scotland will never leave the United Kingdom. Fact! We need money , security friendship and most importantly democracy. The SNP are delusional idiots who have proved conclusively over a long period of time they cannot govern, or for that manner run a bath!

Ask yourself why , with so much support the s.n.p. did not get a mandate for independence, …….eeerrmmmmmm …….because most of the Scots voted against it , the s.n.p. minority shout loudly , in order to create the impression that there are more of them than there actually are , they are the minority, who can not accept a democratic vote result

At this point even England want independence!
The only way to solve this is:
1• Reforming the UK constituencies so England, Scotland and Wales have each one 210 sits on Westminster.
2• Create an English parliament to rule only England issues.
3• Ensure that Greater London will be independent from England and rather the seen as the capital of the United Kingdom (something like Washington DC or Ottawa) while the City of London will be the Capital of England.
4• To give more power to the local governments but keep the importance of Westminster, so Holyrood, Cardiff, Belfast and the City of London will control all the local issues and even make laws that affect only the local population (Without contradict the UK laws) while Westminster will control the all UK issues, defense foreign affairs and laws that affect all the UK.

The SNP do so well at the polls because there is no alternative. The Scots have been indocrinated from birth to hate Tories and Labour under Corbyn were completely unelectable so the votes just fell into their laps.
Now Labour are making a comeback in the polls, the SNP will no longer be untouchable.
You forgot to mention all those lovely wind generators are foreign owned and the SNPs new pimps the Greens will veto any future oil and coal bonus.

Scotland has its own laws and customs distinct from England. I can think of more than 3 good reasons for it to go out independent one reason being that Scotland is not so beholden and besotted with their American cousins the USA.

The Scottish fiscal deficit is because the oil, gas and whisky taxes/revenues are not published and go directly to England. Scotland is a rich country ripped off by it's colonial oppressor.Apply the Thatcher criterion and Scotland would have been independent: rich and European a decade ago.
@deannilvalli6579
December 28, 2023 at 12:40 pm
You seem to have overlooked what is now the most principal argument- Scotland wants to be in the EU. That will ever happen while it is in the UK. There is no path to Single Market memebrship, to EFTA membership, to rejoining the EU, while in the UK. There really isn't a path to any of those things. So while independence is no guarantee of that, they are all definitely impossible without independence.
@ham7696

The English empire must be completely destroyed, for this Scotland must be independent.
@andyhurrell
December 28, 2023 at 12:40 pm
If the Scottish Labour party voters hadn't defected en masse to the SNP the UK might have rid itself of the Conservatives years ago. That said, an independent Scotland would be a more attractive idea if people like Nicola Sturgeon, Alex Salmond and Ian Blackford weren't involved. And there again, how would Scotland be 'independent' if it joined the EU? It would be a case of out of the frying pan and back into the biomass furnace.

I love Scotland and the Scots i met and i would like them to stay within the UK.
However i believed in Brexit and for that reason Scotland should have a voice to give their opinion on Brexit and have a second referendum.
Should the leavers win i don't think the EU would would have the time or desire to have all these arguments again.
Also with the Russian invasion of Ukraine and a belligerent china i’m not sure a lot of countries would want us to have to return our nuclear weapons to the USA.
