There needs to be another dessert pass it on after this fail- even this many years later XD
Have to admit that this is one of my favorite formats. Love the chaos ^^

This may be stereotypically American, but cookies are ABSOLUTELY a dessert. <3 You do you, Barry! ^.^

Make that muppet write a billion times cookies are not a desert and baking is a science

1:28 What is Ebbers wearing… Straight Outta Liverpool.
But on a more serious note, if you walk into a kitchen and see cookie batter….. cookies and cream. An nice ice cream or custard dip. Doesn't have to be highbrow, but it'd be delicious.

  11. @poletooke4691

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

Apparently oranges and lemons are really similar?

  12. @Rachaelshaw7

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

    Request Vegan dessert
I'm with Barry I thought that you were going to make something delicious in a glass and the cookie would just be crumbled over the top

  13. @booates

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

when ben made pudding he said they could have made cookies to go with it

  14. @verakepek

I dont find Jamie funny often, but he was the funniest, cutest in the video! James is still my favourite tho.. 😉

  15. @hannahk1306

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

    I agree this shouldn't have passed. It's not a dessert – it's a garnished snack.
If I were starting, I think I'd have gone with something that could be used for lots of things, e.g. pastry or fruit compote or chocolate.

Barry: Cooking is not a science

Bakers and chefs: baking is the most scientific part of cooking, everything must be measure incredibly accurately

  19. @gouriel

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

Excellent editing as usual, the musical integration around the 3 minute mark as personal highlight! That's some Edgar Wright stuff right there.

Pass It On 108 "Dessert" aka The One Where Baking Isn't a Science

    Barry: 5 (Makes cookie dough)
Ben: 5 (Puts cookies in oven, makes sabayon)
James: 7 (Turns sabayon into custard, makes nut brittle)
Jamie: 6 (Melts chocolate with ginger and orange, cools nut brittle)
Mike: 6 (Put everything together the best he could)

  34. @melaniagirardengo8975

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

If I were Mike i would have done a coffee and improvised a tiramisu real quick to make everithing in an actual dessert

  35. @marcjones1411

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

    "Baking is not a science"
You are using precise ratios of ingredients to create a heat-generated reaction that's almost chemical in nature.
OF COURSE IT'S A SCIENCE YOU… YOU… YOU BARRY YOU!

  36. @broshmosh

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

Still don't understand how cookies aren't dessert. I thought the idea was sweet and satisfying after a rich meal? Sounds like a cookie to me.

  37. @RaymondArias

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

POI ep. featuring a dish with Cinco Jotas Jamon Iberico. Nah, never mind it. This won't be read anyway. =D

  38. @kandihenderson7226

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

Can someone point me to the video of the snoop dogg cookbook

  39. @adamrobinson6951

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

This could easily have been a pass if structured slightly differently. Break up the cookies and layer them in a glass with that cream substance and the brittle and you have a perfectly acceptable dessert.

Of course, had James carried on Ben's work on the cheffy element rather than bodging it with extra cream we could've had a much better dish. I don't know why they all have high expectations of James in these, he's a trained chef but flaps and ruins the dish as often as anybody else.

  40. @v5red

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

Is it a UK thing to not consider cookies a dessert? They are definitely considered a dessert here. They are literally on dessert menus at restaurants.

  41. @infantryveteran2636

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

Jamie has to go, he's no longer "cute and funny"!!!!!

  42. @marcjones1411

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

When Barry said that "Baking is not a science" I knew that this would not end well. My American wife makes a lot of cookies and I know how carefully she measures everything out. Translation: it IS a science.

  43. @equisita8097

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

    cookies are a dessert.

  46. @k92wilding16

    January 27, 2024 at 9:36 am

Ummm…. then what is a cookie if it's not a dessert? My life has been a lie

Peanut Butter Jelly Time with Chester See

Published

on

This sandwich was rumoured to be the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s absolute favourite. Elvis once boarded a 3 hour flight to Denver just to eat the sandwich with friends before returning home. We figured if it was that good, we should give it a go for another musical legend we know… Chester See!

Except our version is a little neater, with multiple layers of bread, peanut butter, jelly and bacon.

Get the full recipe at:- http://sortedfood.com/foolsgoldloaf
