Swedish Chocolate Brownie Recipe | Big Night In | Sorted Food

Published

on

Big Night In At Home – This one is unreal… whether you call it kladdkaka, Swedish brownie or chocolate mud pie… it’s divine! A gooey centre, rusty brownie edge and is absolutely amazing when served with sea salt creme fraiche and macerated berries.

Kladdkaka is a Swedish favorite. Its something my mom will just whip together for a spontaneous fika with the family. Its also my nephew's favorite cake. Usually have it with whipped cream or ice cream.

The only thing we do (or at least when I have made them here in Sweden) is that we don't put baking paper in, instead butter up the whole form and cover it with the bread crumbs.

Klädkaka isnt made like this. First you must boil the butter, and whisk it until its slightly burned, then add cold butter to cool down the hot butter. The add 3 eggs to the cooler mixture.
This is a brownie of some kind?. But nothing like Swedish Klädkaka.

I just made this recipe and it turned out amazing! I made 3/4 of the recipe in a 6 inch square pan and baked it at 350f for 16 min. I also added 1/4 tsp salt. The mixture turned out quite dry compared to the batter in the video so I gradually added milk until it resembled the one in the vid. I let it rest at room temp until it was completely cool and served. It came out gooey and delicious. Thanks guys!
