Two Ways To Cook Mussels | Sorted Food
Food UK
We Gave Our Kids TOTAL Control of the Food Shopping
A 7-year-old just did our grocery shop⌠and Jamie & Mike have to turn it into a delicious meal.
Bazâs son Austin had TOTAL control in the supermarket – picking ingredients that absolutely shouldnât go together (sweet, savoury, snacks, âwhy is that in the trolley?â). Then we revealed them to Jamie and Mike back in the Sorted kitchen with three rules:
â
Use EVERY ingredient Austin buys
â
Make a dish weâd actually want to eat
â
Survive the midway curveball bag that could ruin everything!
Youâll see Austin choosing items in-store, then we cut back to the kitchen as the lads scramble to form a plan, adapt on the fly, and somehow plate up something worthy of praise from not just Chef Ben but Austin himself.
Which ingredient would have broken your brain the most – and did the curveball bag make it better or worse?

Takeaway vs Premium Ready Meal (Blind Taste Test)
Today weâre putting premium supermarket ready meals vs takeaway head-to-head in a blind taste test.
Can you actually tell a premium ready meal from a takeaway when you canât see it? Weâre taste testing two very similar dishes side-by-side (supermarket âposhâ ready meal vs local takeaway), judging on flavour, texture, value for money, portion size, and overall satisfaction – and trying to guess which is which.
If you enjoy blind tasting, food comparisons, budget vs premium, and âworth it?â style tests, this oneâs for you.
COMMENT BELOW: Would you rather spend your money on a premium ready meal or a takeaway – and which dish do you think wins?

"Rockefeller style" would refer to oysters Rockefeller, invented at Antoine's in New Orleans in 1899 by Jules Alciatore, son of the restaurant's founder, Antoine Alciatore. They were so called because they were rich and covered in green. The recipe is still a closely guarded secret, but it is often imitated.

I had a dream about Ben during my otherwise calm night of sleep. It was a peculiar dream, I must say. I was on my way to work and there was a huge problem with all the commuter trains. For some reason, all the trains looked like Harry Potter trains. Ben was there and tried to solve my train problem, but as you might understand, he didnât succeed. We ended up taking a train (that worked?!) to his place and snogged instead. Mike showed up. He was naked and spoke a very strange language. I woke up and was very confused.

I noticed a lemon and it reminds me of a very useful technique. You use tongs, and with half a lemon, you set it face down, put that half lemon between the tongs. Then you hold them with one hand on each end, then squeeze it out. it could use for 1 to 3 times at most, but it helps without accidentally gripping the lemon too hard and to find yourself not feeling it for a moment or two lol.

I remember Italians believe that cheese and seafood do not mix. But I've had mussels prepared like this, i.e. baked with cheese on top, and it was very delicious. Now I'm curious how the other one taste.

For the white wine substitution, can use veg stock, or half veg stock, half apple juice. Or white grape juice with a little apple cider vinegar. Lots of sub options
