Var should be banished from football its ruining the sport they take too long to make a decision and they make a whole theatrical thing about it, nobody gives a shit call it there and then, they rewind and rewind until u don't actually remember your watching football fucking bin the shit and go back to referee and linesman.

VAR has benefited the game in my opinion, I'm guessing since it's been implemented a lot less cheats have been trying to con the officials because they know they aren't likely to get away with it anymore. Regarding the offside rule, you're either offside or on doesn't matter whether it is by a couple of cm's or a couple of feet. Attackers just need to be smarter and check their runs better.

I say for offsides the referee or VAR assistant should go off their own eye rather than drawing lines onto the picture and keep it as that so marginal errors isnt the be all and end all

Only if its clear cut and a mistake has been made. When it's so tight when VAR need to start measuring by the mil then u should give it to the striker. VAR was brought in to sort out clear and obvious errors, not to start checking if the strikers foreskin is offside

Spirit of game has been fucked up sat there watching football on a Saturday ya think ya got ya coupon up only to see var to pop and take a hour to decide it’s off side

I still don't understand what the point of the pitch side monitors are. They don't need to be there if they're not being used like in the NFL. If the ref saw what happened in real life and is unsure about it then I think he should go over to the monitor and check again for himself, not rely on what someone that's not even in the stadium is telling them.

if it's 1cm offside, i don't think it should be given as offside

It is not about how many right decision they get. Its about how many wrong decision they make coz the wrong ones changes the game..

Even if they did use Sounesses rule or any rule there will still be decisions that will have a fanny hair in it so people will still be unhappy, the premier league are not short of a few bob they can surely at the very least invest in better cameras with higher framE rates for VAR if they are gonna knit pick to such fine margins
@hmm2326
January 24, 2024 at 6:26 pm
Good point that Ian made about changing the rule, but then that also applies to the defenders.

VAR worked in the WC than the fa and the premier League tried to be too clever with it and they have complety fucked it and now it has back fired.

January 24, 2024 at 6:26 pm
They should be offside in the frame they're using (when they touched the ball), and the frame before. That's an easy way to account for the margin of error.
EDIT: Also, CMOS sensors capture the top of the frame before the bottom which increases the margin of error so maybe offside the in the frame after too.
@TheGrandChieftain
January 24, 2024 at 6:26 pm
They have to remove the sketching. It's so stupid how someone can be centimeters offside. Offside calls should be an eye test, and, if the offside is debatable, it shouldn't be ruled offside.

January 24, 2024 at 6:26 pm
Imo they sud get clubs and season ticket holders to vote whether to get rid of var or not so that means no telly clappers supporters can get involved cos they like drama and dont understand the passion of being at a game
@jamiemcintosh5197
January 24, 2024 at 6:26 pm
It’s simple. If you need to draw lines, give it onside. You don’t need lines to see clear and obvious errors

Yoel Pachuco – "Just put a time limit in…var got 20 seconds to check…if he cant decide if its offside with all of those camera angles in 20 sec it is not an offside"…CASE CLOSED THANK ME LATER GOOD EBENING

It should be involved in VAR… it was introduced for clear and obvious errors. The four incidents this weekend were NOT clear and obvious
