'Liverpool haven't struggled with half twelve kick offs'. The whole point is not about the results it's about the well fair of the players who play on the Wednesday at 8, train on the Thursday or Friday and play the early kick off on the Saturday.

Basically he complains when things don't work out for him personally….. as they all do!

First guy answering n saying it's disadvantage for lower team. Such a stupid things to say considering players are getting injured from every team. Plus why this wasn't a disadvantage when there is restart after covid interuptions. Football is richer in England than other countries , but 5 subs is unfair here only. I love this league but I don't understand WHY EPL always tries to appear smart or actually desperate to stand apart, just see what other countries are doing be consistent. What you wana do next do a brexit from UEFA ??
    KEEP POLITICS AWAY FROM SPORTS

The argument that Liverpool have the squad depth is nonsense. Liverpool played three 19 year old kids in an important champions league game they were that short of players.

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

Why do all the other leagues have 5 subs and not England?

  8. @TheSm1thers

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

If they're not gonna go back to 5 subs, they should get rid of the squad size limit. It's messed up to be fine with increased chance of injury to premier league players for some twisted view of what's "fair".

Not only do we have more English players careers ruined by injury, but other leagues have the competitive edge over us in Europe cos they have 5 subs while our squads are getting depleted. Downright awful for the English game.

I disagree with Micah for once 5 subs is a no brainer. I quite like two of them coming from the academy or being under 21 (although that'd probably still be a disadvantage a lot of the smaller clubs.

  10. @micah0190

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

Every other league are doing it so there is no excuse why the PL shouldn't.

  11. @thomasthrelfall8216

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

I rate having 5 subs but only if 2 of them HAVE to be from the academy, so 3 subs from anyone in the squad and 2 if they were in the under 18/21 set up – would help limit the top 6 and could help bleed through some homegrown talent

  12. @samuelmarshall4835

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

I actually agree with Richards here, the big clubs like Liverpool have the squads to rotate their lineup before the game so why do they need to bring on 5 subs during the game? Klopp said he would take off Robertson to protect him if he had five subs, why not just leave him out of the starting lineup if you were so keen to protect him?

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

I'd like to see when Guardiola has his rant about it what's m richards says then as he's always bias towards city, yes the prem clubs signed it off but it was signed off before covid, now it just makes common sense to change kick off times

  14. @ajaxlewis7664

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

It's not just cos I'm a Liverpool fan that I agree with Klopp. It makes sense. That's all there is to it.

Sometimes when you listen to some of those former players it makes you wonder if the really used to play the game. Klopp is just asking for the 5 subs for this season. You can't compare it to other seasons this is not your normal season and the teams are playing so much matches with just a few days break in between.

  16. @kpwand

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

Makes no sense to say that Liverpool coped well with 12.30 kick-offs last season when they were able to play a second team or made multiple first-team/formation changes. They had the squad to do it. The argument that they should be able to do it without the squad is simply silly.

  17. @maurodriguesxr

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

The fact is: in terms of high performance sport, the scheduling is obscene. To protect the health of the players and to provide better quality games, the ideal would be to strecht the time between games. Since this is not possible, 5 subs would be the second best solution.

  18. @taliamason7986

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

English football proving once again just how far behind it is against the rest of Europe. Seriously how can you possibly begin to justify saying no to 5 subs when every other major League in Europe has been using it.

  21. @AFunkyHypnoCat

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

It does not make sense when the rest of the world are doing it to not do it. We are just giving all these players disadvantages in upcoming european games and competitive internationals. Protect the players before anything, all the premier league does is money money money just look at what the british public are charged to watch games.

  22. @adarranch898

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

It’s not about the results with the 12.30 kick offs, it’s about the player welfare, their safety is paramount.

  23. @johno9761

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

Danny Murphy is fucking thick mentioning Liverpool's 12:30 record forgetting ONE BIG DIFFERENCE that's pre COVID you donkey

  24. @johno9761

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

Micah talking shite you might have 25 man squads but you don't have 25 good players

  25. @elijahkhaira

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

Sorry but what don’t be get about us keeping with 3 subs!? My main issue with it (and I know that people will be saying that this isn’t right at all!) but once we do 5 subs for this season, it will stay as 5 subs and won’t be going back which will be giving bigger teams an advantage, I mean for starters there’s a reason why every few teams win multiple competitions within a season as they’ve got to play so many games, hence why this season may be a bit more cramped but is no different! Also this season has been AMAZING for entertainment seeing of how messed up/random the league is, which is what we all love! But allowing for 5 subs will only help out the bigger clubs more! As when you compare the bench of a ‘top 6 team’ to another, I mean their bench is probably worth more than the starting lineup of the smaller team! And the fa t they can now bring on basically every one of those players bar 1 (unless the goalie needs changing) is just ridiculous! And shouldn’t happen!
I mean my main issue as I said before is that once we have that first game with 5 subs, it won’t EVER go back to 3!

    Michah top pundit

  27. @danedds1068

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

I'm bewildered by the idea that big clubs will affect the outcome of games with 5 subs. Which club carries 5 attacking players among their 7 on the bench? No one! If anything, with 5 subs, big clubs will rest their most lethal attacking threats when the game is won; bring on younger or inexperienced players instead, which ironically means less goals conceded for smaller clubs. if you are tied on points at the bottom come seasons end; goal difference will surely be handy.

  28. @bluellua6025

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

The whole world is doing 5 subs lol.

Meanwhile every player is falling out injured in the PL.

  29. @9hajduk

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

If you want to get paid $10 plus million a year then stop complaining. Only reason so many games are being played so quickly is to be able to pay the players. Propose salary cut for players and I’m sure less games will happen. Overpaid divas.

  30. @Kloppenheimer

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

They won vs Leicester last week 3-0 and Klopp have said the same thing.
Btw Klopp is talking about these issues for last 5 years.

  31. @nitelite78

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

Could just compromise and have 4 subs one of whom has to come on at half time.

  32. @jamsmaty5624

    January 24, 2024 at 7:28 pm

They should stick with 3 subs but add 2 extra subs for injuries only this way everyone will benefit
