Fast forward seven years and Barry, who looks so troubled as the heat kicks in, will volunteer to do level 5 instead of the other guys in a hot sauce challange 🌶

That was a very cute take on mole. Hopefully, as you learn more, you will find that mole requires far more time and far more ingredients.

damn, if you thought this was good, you might want to try real tacos de pollo mole.

I love Ben's intense teaching moment at 3:233:45

It's like he's super proud of Barry for picking up on it and just doesn't want to waste the chance to push the understanding a little further.

I was reading through the comments and I am now confused. A lot of people complained about how he served it but isn't mole the sauce so that is really what the video is about. Is there a rule about how you serve it? I can not really think of a sauce I know of that is limited how it is used. Maybe how it is served is not traditional but I personally think everyone's preferences are different and that is ok.

for everyone that probbaly is going to say this isnt mole, they are british first of all, and dont have all day to actually make the mole, also its not said that this is traditional, this is their take on it, Ive had plenty of real mole, but this still looks great, btw is not called chocolate mole, its just called mole lol

Thought I ask, but have you guys heard of the Mexican orange mole? The ingredients are why different and the sauce is orange looks really good the flavor is addicting. When making the sauce you must be careful or the flavor will split and the sauce gets chunky it's really delicate sauce to make but it's so damn good. I've been looking for a similar recipe online or pictures but haven't found anything close it.

Pefect guys. I'd love to try your recipe. It's one of the best mexican mole recipes I've ever seen. Congrats & greetings from Mexico.

I've made mole out of a cookbook from South America and it asked for tortilla to thicken it

  17. @myrmidoni87

    January 14, 2024 at 12:53 am

Wow, you guys made it Poblano style, which is a thicker mole. LOVE IT!
I was laughing, because I don't blame Ben when he thought Mexicans wird for the combo. Im Mexican, and I was weirded out too when my mother showed me how to make her mole (which includes stale toasted bread, tostada, and BANANA).
I wouldn't worry too much about the taco thingamajig. My sisters and I invented this weird sandwich with the leftover mole and a sunny side egg. Weird, but so delicious.
And yes, mole is SO messy, but then again, tortillas are the Mexicans food, spoon, and napkin

    TACKOS
    TACOS
I THINK THAT MEXICAN MOLE HAS NO SUGAR..

Mexican here, and that Mole looks very good, the only thing that dont match is the hard shell tortilla 🙂

    January 14, 2024 at 12:53 am

bit late in commenting here since it's basically over a year. Uh there's this spice that's used for mole that literally makes it mole. I forget the name but it's a dark blackish spice (no not chocolate) also I see a lot of comments about the tortilla and I love your replies. You guys are right rice is awesome especially orange rice (tomato buillon in rice basically)

  21. @WaltzingAustralia

    January 14, 2024 at 12:53 am

Actually, chocolate and chili were the original combination — but it was a drink back then (we're talking pre-Columbian). Chocolate was actually taken to Europe as a drink. It wasn't until the mid-1600s that the clever British discovered that it was a much nicer drink if one added milk and sugar, rather than chili. As for turkey being more traditional — turkey is indigenous to the Americas, while beef and chicken were introduced — so yes — definitely what they originally produced. Must say, however, that your version looks fabulous, if not quite exactly what one would get in Mexico. That Sorted twist!
