I think the microwave one probably lacks a lot in texture since everything is mixed. I'd to the same thing in the oven in 40(?) minutes, of which 30 minutes or so is it cooking on its own in the oven.

As for quick cooking, I get a whole chicken in the oven on Sunday evening, strip it, and use the meat for various quick dishes during the week. Or if I feel really lazy, I get a roast chicken at the local grocery store for lunch on Monday, and then I have meat for 2-3 more days of the week depending on how much of a meat coma I am prepared to endure the first day.

Anyone watch one and then binge about 20 episodes one after the other? Especially series like this 🤣 I'm scared of running out of vids to watch though 🤣 x

A pie needs a top and bottom so Jamie loses.

Coming back in 2022 to say I FINALLY made Jamie and Mike’s pie and let me tell you….. oh, my lord. I was weak in the knees by the smells in my kitchen and then died and gone to Heaven after the first bite; the Lord sent me back to finish my plate, though!! Thank y’all for an incredible recipe I’m gonna save for the rest of my life.

I have to agree with Jaime, I love adding a whole roasted chicken to a dish. It really does give you so many different flavors in each bite.

I make the 1st one every day, and even if I was going to be the only one eating it I still make the 3rd one as just for a Look what I made I feel proud of myself

3:48 Mike trying to look interested in what Jamie has to say is some of the greatest acting ever.

  16. @VixeyTeh

    January 10, 2024 at 10:12 pm

I think the voting is fair.
Microwaved one for a quick dinner,
The puff pastry top for family meals and the one from scratch that took the longest for very special fancy occasions.

    January 10, 2024 at 10:12 pm

This just gave me a super fast version idea!
    Boil a kettle of water.
Get some water crackers and crumble them in the bottom like a crust.
Get a can of chunky chicken soup, spoon in enough to fill your bowl about 2/3s full.
Stir in a teaspoon of corn flour.
Get some instant mash potato, the water should be boiled now, so mix up a few tablespoons of mash.
Pop the mash on top and microwave the whole thing for 5mins.
Should be able to make this in a dorm room or small apartment too!

I prefer Jamie’s as I love puff pastry.

@sortedfood do you guys buy "organic" chicken stock or make your own? Alot of recipes call for stocks and don't know whether it's worth buying it pre-made or buying bones etc. and batch making it and freezing left overs… you thoughts?? Cheers team.

  28. @ksuny

    January 10, 2024 at 10:12 pm

I like mushrooms in my chicken pie so points off all three. But short crust pastry with rosemary sounds divine.

    January 10, 2024 at 10:12 pm

Ben’s pie is 💯 worth it. It’s delicious and easy! I’m just wondering why you put in milk and nog ice water like most pastries?

  30. @sebeckley

    January 10, 2024 at 10:12 pm

It's not a pot pie unless it's in a full "pastry case." Always the best.

    January 10, 2024 at 10:12 pm

I would go with Jamie's. It is what my family would enjoy more,
