Who’s the most pretentious in this video?!

  2. @mrgyani

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

The Tesla beer just screams pretentious in every way. Esp the bottle design.

Fun video, but please don't promote Elon Musk products on your channel anymorr

Can't believe I just saw them drink £500 of beer

  5. @Mikemk_

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

That buyer sounded to me more like a satire of pretentiousness.

  6. @organicgrains

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I don't think I'd ever heard the phrase "yeasty pockets" used to describe anything that is supposed to be appetizing.

  7. @PedroPetracco

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

1:50 "Across your PALATE", as in your taste sense. Not "palette", as in a range of colors.

BET THE butter can be made for 50 pounds but you Might break your microwave

  9. @vijay20

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Ebbers looking like a slim peter griffin (with the double chin) is perplexing.

  10. @schattenengel6806

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

And here comes the German saying that quite a lot large breweries make their beers taste quite similar due to that "Reinheitsgebot" and smaller breweries doing craft beers on the other hand coming up with the most exciting and well rounded delicious beers you could possibly imagine just by being a bit more creative and loose with those traditions.

  11. @onlylane

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

y'all should do a challenge with flavored butter. I know you've made it a few times. But maybe the normals all make different butters and Ben has to guess what's in each one.

  12. @benjaminlovato283

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Sounds like they are using the waste part of the crab to make big money.

  13. @ConnorSinclairCavin

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I have an unopened metal bottle of the halo release mntdew haha, its basically near certain to be far past drinkable now, but, its in great condition (never left the fridge) so…

  14. @ConnorSinclairCavin

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Make sure to keep those Tesla bottle caps, small event brew caps like that tend to become super collectible.

  15. @julieham2462

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I love glass bottles, I don't like beer, so I would get it for the bottles, and let someone else drink the beer! Lol

  16. @nigelhaines7900

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Cant beat German beer or larger

  17. @susana.9483

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Funny thing is, the beer is brewed in California, not Germany !!

  18. @evelyneb590

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I hate the beer bottles so so much

  19. @patmaurer8541

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

The point of buying something extraordinary is to ENJOY it! Collecting novelties to flip is pretentious 😊

  20. @waterup380

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

what you should do is get some award-winning cheese from Manitoba and butter they are both not far from each other the cheese and butter new brothel cheese and Notre Dame butter

  21. @waterup380

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I have brought $30.00 butter and yes it was really good

  22. @julieweiner1623

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

    Tesla beer is ridiculous

  23. @Drinkyoghurt

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

The "Bavarian beer law" thing is actually false, and these days breweries don't have to stick to it and can (and will) use additives when it's a beer meant for export. In Germany itself German beers have to stick to it, but foreign beers do not (thanks to an EU ruling). This means that even our cheapest beer is still much better than most bottom of the barrel or mid-range beers you find outside Germany.

  24. @andrews9615

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Jamie is talking about shape variation with the olive oil pearls bringing something extra visually.

  25. @maxwhite8470

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

86p for that beer. Outbid me😅

  26. @user-yc6km3iw7c

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

You bought something from Elon Musk? Shameful

  27. @HackSawSees

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Whiskey doesn't particularly go off, due to the high amount of alcohol, right? (I ask because while I believe this to be the case, I've been surprised before.)

  28. @redneckchemist6506

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

If stored properly, 100 year old wine and whiskey can be drinkable. 35 year old whiskey is absolutely drinkable. Beer lasts a few years max.

  29. @stecky87

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

If the company that makes it calls it ridiculous, it IS pretentious

  30. @tripnut5702

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Funny the way a "normal" can say pretentious but fun without a hint of pretention and a cheff can say something is pretentious in a fery pretentious way!!

  31. @agathar7115

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Sublime butter has an even MORE exclusive option: Cinco Jotas Jamon Iberico, Iberian Carabineros prawns, Pedro Ximinez sherry, and Spanish saffron (55 pound for butter only)

  32. @marietilbrook3693

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Can we please talk about Ebbers' yeasty pockets!😂

  33. @PJxpanterx

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I love how Jamie really didn't like that butter but praised it anyway because he knew alot of people would love it.

  34. @andrewpalmer7280

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

19:02 ummm was that the chair or something else? 🤔😂

  35. @RobKlarmann

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

As a German (from Bavaria), seeing Elon Musk take one of the most humble products and turn it into something out-of-space is just plain ridiculous! You're right. He's ruined Twitter. And even though you say the beer tastes good, it seems like he has (or his team have) tried too hard to make beer seem more amazing than it is – and 25 quid for beer, that's ruining the experience. You can get some of the best German craft beers for under 10 quid and their flavour is out of this world. That's what it's about: flavour!

  36. @davidgustavsson4000

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Yes, collector's edition food is pretentious. Because it doesn't, and can't, do anything to the consumption experience.

  37. @SillyJerel

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Automatically disliking any video that blindly and ignorantly labels Tesla as a 'green ' company. They're no better for the world and perhaps worse for the affect they've had on economy and perception

  38. @vexinglex4996

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I love that fun and often lighthearted episodes like this can show how insightful you guys can be. Mike's thoughts on the valuation of a product for its scarcity or branding are spot on… It really does change the cost of a product depending on how you perceive its value. The Tesla beer is pretentious AF, yes… But damn, they know how to sell a concept, don't they?

  39. @kevinswenson3345

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

2 things… Tesla is not the most valuable automobile company that’s Toyota and they are more environmentally friendly with it’s factories and it’s hybrid electric vehicles. Then sorry Jamie Elon fixed twitter, it was hot propaganda bot garbage before.

  40. @chevron_blue

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Great video 😊 just one question: is the camera in front of you not set on a tripod? It's constantly moviiing 😱

  41. @antmaymay

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I love when we get a chef and a normal on these videos. Cracks me up to see the normal feel like I do, “that’s pretentious but in a good way”. Then chef “completely pretentious”.

  42. @iamthesword1180

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

It is NOT a good thing that German breweries are so restricted in their use of ingredients (says me, a German): Yes, they do make good beer with what they have, but they are so limited in their range. Compare that to Belgium which has a much more variety (and still good quality thanks to their brewing culture). I would trade that every day.

Also, I hate Elon Musk's beer abomination. Even for "only" 79€. Good beer should have its price, but this is just rediculous.

  43. @JDEldred

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Giving Musk any airtime or money is gross y’all

  44. @dipsymitschnauzer

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Getting a Polestar ad on this video right after the beer tasting feels extra funny ^^

  45. @ogsu9250

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Did Ebbers even get to try it?!

  46. @Comrade_mommy

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I’m pathologically adverse to paying for a name when buying anything. If the name adds to the price then absolutely not. Drinking a bear that is outrageously expensive not bc of the quality of the ingredients, but instead bc it’s a marketing gimmick for fcking Tesla, feels like simp behavior.
In the same way I find a sweater emblazoned with Gucci a turn off, (as well as it taking a max $200 sweater and adding $2k to it), I hate this beer. Also I’m cringe adverse and Elon musk is so toxically cringe that he’s made an entire car company I used to have mildly positive feels towards, feel almost as cringe as he is. Especially bc it’s not like I couldn’t get a good German beer for cheaper without the embarrassment of buying an overpriced promotional product.

  47. @thricexalliance

    January 10, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Ferran Adria uses these "caviars" in his menu, or at least he did years ago, haven't followed along his journey in quite some time.
