Tarap. A fruit that you can find in Sabah, Malaysia. It is realllllly delish! Not funky and thorny like the durian.

Mango, papaya, and fresh pineapple all keep gelatin from setting. Be sure to check the packaging before making substitutions with gelatin 😀

You should try snake (skin) fruit from Thailand. I'd never heard of it before but had it 2 years ago on my trip there. It starts out extremely tart, so much so that we all had a extreme physical reactions to our first bites. However, the more you eat, the sweeter it becomes. If you take a bit of something else or drink something in between bites, then your next bite of the fruit will be like the first reaction again. Craziest fruit I've ever eaten. PS Love durian and jackfruit! (Jackfruit can be funky smelling, too. It's very versatile, though. My nephew made jackfruit dumplings they enjoyed one night.)

It's one of those things like Coriander. To some people (like me) it is delicious. To others? Rancid. Personally it smells a bit odd, but it tastes somewhat like the sweetest Melon I have ever had. A friend took me to a restaurant in Hong Kong that solely sold Durian based desserts – it was amazing

    January 6, 2024 at 6:35 pm

Laughed out loud at the way they opened the durian. Hahahah #asian #singaporean Durians are amazing! Cream puffs, mousses, cakes, rolls, crepes, pudding, gelato, ice-cream, milkshake, custards – we have a durian version of it. The boldest of us have ventured into durian pizza and durian fried rice
