My problem with Egg McMuffins is the egg. A thick egg disk, with a hard yolk—ick. If they would put the scrambled egg into it for me, I would get it every time.🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🇺🇸🌸Jamie’s looks and sounds fantastic!

To take a mass produced item, and then craft it well by hand definitely takes skill. Consistency is a huge piece of the chef's skillset

Barry's really wowed me and I couldnt even taste it. As NORMALS, you are hella skilled as the young folks say. I have eaten a lot of tasteless claggy muffins in my time. it takes more than just adding some stuff in a bowl and mixing it up. Bravo.

"I'm going to make a blueberry muffin" Great, good news, I really hope you're not going to make the obvious and common mistake of drowning it in overly sweet stuff that's going to overpower all of the subtle fruity flavour of blueberries and ruin the entire thing, like for instance caramel or chocolate. "I'm going to add caramelised white chocolate to that." NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

The savoury muffin inspiration by the 'golden arches' company is undeniable and is worth making better. Personally I would prefer the sausage and egg one. I used to make cheddar muffns – worth a try. Grate a good quality cheddar in a classic muffin batter (in muffin tins), add a touch of sour cream, with some extra cheese on top and hopefully you will get a melt y cheesy muffin with a slightly crispy golden cheddar top. Add crisp bacon pieces inside the batter if you are so inclined.

My vote went to Barry cause I don’t consider Jamie’s to be a real muffin. English muffins aren’t actually muffins. Mikes, while looking delicious is a blueberry muffin with a bunch of stuff on top. Barry’s on the other hand sounded unique to me, even if it may be from somewhere else, I’ve never heard of it and it looked good

I totally agree with Ben.
A Maccas McMuffin is something that has been trialed and tested for years and is an iconic favourite. Sure sweet muffins would be the first thing you would think when given a brief for a muffin battle but that just makes thinking savoury more creative. Also he managed to cook it better than maccas and add a hollandaise sauce which when he got it right must have made it even better!

Barry's muffins look amazing. I would absolutely pick his over Mike's in a coffee shop. Mike's muffins look more like cupcakes and also like they're impossible to eat cleanly.
