    I agree about open sandwich.

A sandwich has two pieces of bread or roll or bun

"Is Northern Ireland a country"?!?! Wow. How to completely disregard a part of the UK

    Why couldn't you say USA?

  5. @Shaycare

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

It’s funny that Jamie says there’s no such thing open sandwiches when that’s usual way of having sandwiches in Poland. Sandwiches as he thinks are usually just for packed lunch

To be completely fair, Jamie isn't wrong in saying 'USA' isn't a good answer for many foods. We have so few things here that are actually FROM here. Even when we do, they're very state to state or region to region. We're soooo big. Added to that, there's so little indigenous influence in the greater US, sad as that is. Something like that from Hawaii is just as influenced by American military occupation as any other country in the world. So, I would definitely take Hawaiian as the actual answer, not American for this particular street food. Now, had it been biscuits and gravy… USA would have been a definitely correct answer. 😁

It's really not fair to call Spam Musubi "American". Hawaii deserves so much more credit than to be given that horrific moniker.

Having bakso in my life, I can't imagine that it can be plated beautifully…

Every time I watch this episode, I absolutely hate when Jamie yells at Ben for the "open face sandwich" comment. I've always called them that too, so 😜

  10. @themeong4610

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

That’s absolutely not bakso, I would rather disagree because ……..

The sauce on the Spam Musubi is called Huli Huli sauce. It's a very teriyaki like sauce, but different.

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

The reaction to spam musubi was great. I'm from the US and we used to eat that all the time.

  13. @thatguy8915

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

Spam musubi is super popular in Alaska as well

  14. @JEilonwyn

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

As an American… I INSTANTLY thought 'thats Hawaiian'… then thought 'there's NO way they picked 'the USA' as an answer…
    So, I ALSO went Korea.😂

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

Hehehe when you started talking about festivals and a "secret ingredient" that would give it away, I started to think of my adopted country. They don't call it carnival (that's just for the Easter week parties), just festivals/holidays. And a "more Brazilian" pronunciation would be something like ken-ton, but a more nasaly "ton". I've been here for fifteen years and am still not perfect lmao

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

L&L Barbecue is damn good. They have some locations in Washington state. Their kalua pork is solid.

  17. @AlexanderNash

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

To be fair, plenty of americans wouldn't have gotten the spam musubi either.

  18. @felixphelpsfilchat3410

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

I wonder if it could work a similar video idea but it is meal with 1 single missing ingredient
Like heck a casserol missing the pie crust
or an apple pie missing the cinamon
or a sushi missing the salmon roe

  19. @mksaechao3036

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

I was playing along, here are my answers. I think I beat both of them.😬 1. Germany 2. Hawaii (USA) 3. Malaysia 4. Canada

  20. @ethancampbell215

    January 5, 2024 at 6:07 pm

I think traditional street food is the best way to experience global cuisine’s because they are typically quick to prepare, full of flavour and simple in design. Although there might be some traditional global dishes that are more complex and refined they potentially lose the key benefit of traditional cuisine of celebrating geographical ingredients

When I saw the Musubi, I was screaming at them to put down USA…how can you think its Hawaii but you can't put USA down because of a lack of confidence 😛
