That thing looks absolutely extraterrestrial. They could use it as-is in the next Star Wars cantina scene.

I know this is a old video, but there's the question whether melon and cucumbers are in the same family and the answer is yes – they're all Cucurbitaceae which also include gourds, squash, bitter melon etc. So quite an extended family. They all have similar characteristics: a skin, some flesh and a bunch of seeds in the middle. When you cut it in half, a yellow summer squash doesn't look much different from a small gourd , a melon or pumpkin and a cucumber.

Melons and cucumbers are in fact in the same family

I know this was a long time ago, just came across it. Horned melon makes pretty nice gazpacho, and adds a really nice color.

  17. @yoy331

    January 4, 2024 at 6:33 pm

2:30 Actually melon and cucumber are in the same family! They are both of the gourd family Cucurbitaceae. When planting a garden you can't plant melon and cucumber near eachother or they will cross polinate and you will get a cucumber melon fruit. You know you could always answer you don't know if you don't know something, Ben. 😛

This is very late, but in my experience I've found the best way to get the seed goop out is to squish it out like one would squeeze the juice out of a lemon.

    Facade
    Choose your name: Ben
Trip: Ben! It's been so long!
    *ben walks to the kitchen

Horny melon sounds like an appropriate name if it ejaculates its seed as described. also that shade of green is out of this world, im pretty sure they were imported from Oz.
