MPs Reject a No Deal Brexit – Brexit Explained

Published

on

Yesterday evening (13th March) MPs voted on whether or not they supported a no deal Brexit. But things weren’t that simple with Yvette Cooper putting forward the Spelman Amendment. Ultimately the house voted against no deal, saying they wouldn’t want to see a hard brexit in any situation; going further than the original vote May set out.

And here we are, 1 year and 3 months later and still no idea where we are headed! Perhaps you could revisit this and explain what, apart from now having an internal customs boundary, has actually changed.

The UK wants to threaten a no deal but they also vote overwhelmingly against no deal in parliament.

The idea of bluffing effectively requires the other side to think you are serious and a much better poker face than the Brits have.
The EU has made preparations for No Deal Brexit, they are all in.
    Go ahead and bluff…

This cleverly understated but biased channel attempts to disguise itself as a Brexit friendly forum, which it is not.
I'd really like to know WHO is really behind this platform because it's certainly not the usual set-up of someone's innocent enthusiasm and computer skills versus a PC in a spare bedroom.
    This is not the norm.
Yet it's purportedly 'explaining politics'…what to to dumb working class Jo and racist white Jane? You are professional and organised and therefore undoubtedly funded by someone hiding behind a veil.
Come out, come out, whomever you are because until you do, I'm not supporting you!

  18. @alanpearly

    January 2, 2024 at 7:18 am

But is that motion binding? Even if it is (from the British Parliament's point of view), the EU doesn't need to necessarily agree.

Meaning come March 29 if the EU doesn't give an extension then the UK exits without a deal regardless of what the UK wants / doesn't want.

the conservitives will let you down. im reminded of trump failure to replace obamacare, all he managed to do is take 41 million people who needed it off health insurance. sounds like UK is getting no deal brexit. all the EU has to do is shut the door and Uk is forced into a no deal.
