With the Brexit deadline getting ever closer, it’s worth asking if the UK is ready to handle a no-deal Brexit. Luckily Michael Gove spoke in front of the house to discuss the government’s readiness. So in this video we discuss the government’s announcement and plans and compare them to the harsh analysis of the recent Yellowhammer report.

Sorry but was the UK's farming and fishing really that bad that you now need to leave the EU for it to be better? Was it some law from the EU that restricted the UK from living their best life? Because so far this is some rainbow promisses with some hopefull sugary nothings (read political promisses).

I kinda want to see no deal happen just so we can settle the argument about what will happen. On the other hand it could have a real cost in Human lives and suffering as well as be another domino on our path to global recession. So… I'd say I'm glad I'm Canadian but our election looks to have fractured us politically even farther and there's still a week to go, and 2 of our Provinces are turning separatist.

Who knows maybe after Brexit the world will get a spinoff: Quebexit: The Albertaning.

1 people didn't vote for leaving the EU, they voted for a series of lies, if the vote was to be redone knowing these falsehoods the remain would win.
2 the EU doesn't control most domestic laws in the UK, Boris still spouting his lies.

  33. @ElectricInevitability

No deal is the brexit I expected…I didn't expect "transition periods" handing billions over for nothing in return and continued say for the ECJ.

I expected us to be completely free of all EU influence and anything less than that isn't brexit. What a nonsense to say we didn't vote for no deal… What idiot expected the EU to make leaving a breeze and us getting good terms when withdrawing?

Any deal with the EU should be made when we are a free independent nation again and not conditional on us leaving with good terms from the EU. It's bonkers

Has the TLDR team considered adding English subtitles to these videos? No particular reason I chose this video over others to comment on. The auto-generated sub algorithms aren’t good enough yet, imo. They commit way too many errors in their content delivery.

I know adding subs will create another step in releasing videos, but consider that they will make your videos more accessible to d/Deaf/hard-of-hearing viewers, as well as those of us who want to simply want to watch your videos in quiet places without disrupting others around us (if headphones aren’t available).

To the UK: Please leave the EU without a deal. My biggest worries that another extension or a crappy deal (for the EU) might, and probably will, lead to a rise in anti-EU feelings across the rest of the EU, especially in the former Eastern Bloc countries. There are people here who say that "Brussels is the new Moscow", when they see this Brexit theater. And I do not want to get things uglier than they already are. See the rise of anti-systematic political movements in former Eastern Bloc countries. I would go for a hard Brexit. Yes, it will do damage. To both the UK an EU. Severe and immediate damage. But if that does not happen, I worry much bigger damage, in the long run, would be made for all. If there will not be a hard Brexit, I fear that other "exits" will follow. The EU needs to be reformed, not crushed. Also, the elites in Brussels need to see Brexit happen (preferably a hard one), so they return to the ground from their cloud castles. They need to start to listen to people and stop forcing their all their ideals on them. Especially the younger EU members see this. Forcing dead-born ideas from old member states to newcomers in e.g. immigration policy is exactly what tears the EU apart. The EU should not discuss Brexit anymore. We, like the UK, have our red lines and also other things that need to be discussed and solved. I do not want to sound like blackmailing the UK and wanting them to revoke A50. Any Revoking must be the result of the UK and nobody else. The EU should not try to influence this in any way. No more extensions and never-ending negotiations without any progress. I prefer a horrible end than an endless horror. Yes, the true "horror" will be after a hard Brexit. This needs to happen, for various reasons. Still better than hundred years ago, when people started to go to war. This Brexit and post hard-Brexit will leave much less dead and the economic cost will still be lower than after any war like the WWI and WWII. Maybe this needs to happen. People need to suffer to come to their senses and realize what is important and what is true. If they fail to see this, then there is no hope for us (as a civilization) anyway. I am sorry, I do not mean any harm to anybody. The harm would be just a side-product. I feel really sorry for the folks who will be directly affected by a hard Brexit. But I fear the long-term consequences of a soft Brexit or revoking A50 for all of us. There is no vengeance or intended punishment from my side. This mess has no good outcomes. Only bad ones. We all know that. The question is: what outcome is worse and for whom? Maybe one outcome is worse for the UK, the other is worse for the rest of the EU. Remember: it is not the EU who wanted the UK out. It was the UK who started this all. And why? A political gamble, which backfired. I personally do not think that the UK leaving is what the EU needs. It needs to be reformed, not crushed. But I even more do not want the likes like Farage in the EU Parliament doing what they are doing. They do not seek any constructive speech. They do not want to reform the EU. They want out. Even if that means to be destructive to anything, even destroying the EU would be OK for them if it leads to their goal. Without Brexit, even more like-minded persons might get more and more support. Also in other EU member states. You can argue with numbers and logic against a Brexit. But what for, when people do not listen? When people are being naïve (and in some cases stupid)? I am deeply sorry for everyone. This mess that the UK got us all into has only bad outcomes. And what is worse differs by where you are, where you were born, what your values are. I am sorry for that. No more extensions. No crappy deals (from the point of view of the EU). A crappy deal (for the EU) would give a free-to-ride ticket to other separatist movements. No. The UK must suffer (even if we suffer with it). It is nothing personal. But everyone must protect their interests. And the EU must come to senses as well here. Especially some western politicians with their handling of the immigration crisis. The EU is not perfect. But neither is the alternate. In fact, it is worse.
