James deserved to win this one. But It can’t be overlooked how much thought and effort went into bens dish as always.

I love james such a character and great part of the crew. But Ben is such a good chef. It can’t go unnoticed.

Don't remember seeing anyone buy butter flour or sugar

I adore Borough Market, but Ben is right. The Market is huge! I had the loveliest mushroom pate, stupendous cheese, and comforting artisan bread. The chocolate truffles weren't bad either! 😏

this is a ridiculous observation, why are money notes so big?

Is there recipes guides for these? As I would love too make the monkfish dish

Are sea beans 9:29 the same as Samfire? 10:11 Nope. They do not look the same. We have neither in houston.🤗

My mother’s family has been in texas for 176 years. I genuinely believe they have a culture of poor taste, and low standards. I do not understand why houston is thought of as a place for great food.🙃🙃🙃🫶🏻🫶🏻💋🇺🇸🌸

James makes it look good but won't fill your belly, Ben makes it look yummy and has substance.

Have to agree for a meal, it was Ben's.

10:43 Can't believe I never saw Ben in the left corner the first few times watching this!😂
    Freaking scared me at first!

Amazing, in France the fishmonger won’t give you a cut of fish. You buy what is prepared or the whole fish. 150g of monkfish…non, non, non. But a cheesemonger will weigh what you want.

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

Y'all will never read this comment. But I'm here, a year after James left. And I miss James. Though Ben has a devoted following I just don't…care. Nowadays, I fast forward past Ben. I re-watch, and prefer, videos that do not include Ben. Now that James is gone, the most compelling guy you've got is Mike. Sorry.

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

So I found this channel maybe 3 years ago tops? This video is a backlog video so to speak for me. Seeing Jamie without glasses is… wrong?

And yes, I'm commenting on it much later than it's relevance.

  16. @2rare2die100

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

Just rewatched this, and I still don’t know what happened to James’ 2nd dish….. 😂

10:45 The L in almonds is silent, as it is in salmon and palm. You sound like a total moron pronouncing it, please don't do it ever again.

Borough market is the greatest place in London. I can, and have, spent hours there and spent way too much money. I went once so hungover that all I could do was eat some minestrone soup sitting on the side of the road, like a very posh tramp.

I wish we had this in Arizona 😪

    wat happened to the dessert?

  21. @drsch

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

I don't like fish, so that's an easy one.

  22. @patwawryk7717

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

So 4 years later and I'm still wondering what happened to the little cake with berries James tried cooking

  23. @LadyTarasque

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

I'd have to go with Ben's dish too.. visually pleasing, and I love seafood.. Also, never had monkfish and I've been interested in trying it ever since a character in an anime made a curry dish around it.

  24. @malikavandenbeld6129

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

This is still my favorite video

Purple fingerling potatoes are very earth, very long cooking ( if in soup) ,and don't stay exactly that purple….I used to have a 40× 100 organic garden…in new york state usa…grew at least a dozen + varieties of potatoes thru the years.

  26. @Lolo-bm6tu

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

I feel like ben stealing james' stuff is just so brother vibey

  27. @RiverDanube

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

I don't think the guys took into account what it would be like sitting down and eating the whole dish. If I was served three tomato's on my plate I would not be happy.

  28. @jamiebundy7817

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

    I'd like to see a variation on this;
The length of time taken to shop is how long the other cook has to …. cook. Shop fast and miss stuff/ over pay/not get quality but have a time advantage, or shop slow to get what you want/need but risk the time yourself…….

  29. @alanstern6930

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

Re your nostalgia pass it on I knew you had commented on cockles before.

  30. @brandonwenzel2844

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

Ebbers definitely won this one. James's dish looked… interesting; but more confused really. I didn't see a standout element in his dish. He just kinda threw flavors against one another. And on top of it…he challenged himself to make two dishes; but ended up with just one confused plate.

  31. @uweschroeder

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

Well, how about that – a battle that turns out dishes which complement each other. How is that for an idea? Somehow have 2 parties who need to turn out a dish each that complements the other? I.e. just reveal the main protein or some ingredients or make it an appetizer and a main – so many options to make this a fun show.

  32. @noajmoses4379

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

    James won

  33. @mamakitty6549

James looked like something I'd want to buy on a menu to be honest though

I’d have voted for the 🍺 cider.

  35. @VixeyTeh

    December 30, 2023 at 2:48 am

Maybe could do a battle where Chef picks a normal to do the shopping for them. The normal picks the ingredients, the Chefs battle using only the ingredients the normal buys for them.
