A lot of people are asking what is the peeler that Kush recommends…. It’s the Victorianox Rex peeler if you’re interested 😁

    Happy peeling peeps!

Oooh while working McDonalds in the 90s a bit, we had a, "Kitchen Witch," which was that tomato slicer bolted to a table just for tomato! I loved that slicer. Whooa and in the 80s my mom owned an arcade and cafe, and on the kitchen wall was a square blade chopper mounted to the wall with a lever on the side so you could put your body into it! It was just for cutting potatoes into fries right over the deep fryer!

Tomato slicer at Wendy’s. It was never sharp enough, and made a dog’s dinner of every tomato.

The tomato slicer gives me war flashbacks to working the kitchen. It one hundred percent is satisfying to use and also hella fricking dangerous lmao. Normally it comes with a hook that slides into the edge of the table for extra hold so you can really slam that thing. Best to do it with force and speed. I think we also used it for onions occasionally but it really is specifically for tomatos! It's SO unskilled we often let the volunteer kids use it to make: Sandwiches! Each hospital floor provides some snack sandies for patients and this thing saved us HOURS of prep work.

    Just use a kitchen towel

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

Hahaha. I watched The Crazy Russian Hacker use this tomato slicer a few years ago…

I worked at a placed named The Dog House in the 80’s. It was a tiny building shaped like a dog house and we sold hot dogs 🙂 We used the tomato slicer there! The “Chicago” had mustard, relish, onions, pickle spear and tomatoes! We also had a German..mustard sauerkraut and onions. And the Texas which was mustard, Chili, onion and cheese! Good times!!

  9. @mizztab3677

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

Have also used the slicer and dicer in fast food prep. The carrot peeler//massager was hilarious

  10. @ConnorSinclairCavin

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

I’ve used one of those tomato slicers at work before, some slicers more mash them really… but if sharp they can do some crazy efficient cuts with practice, they can also be awesome for onion slices with some types of onion

  11. @jacobjones1849

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

Those tomato slicers SUUUUUUCK btw. The blades are dull on everyone I’ve used, you have to slam it or it smushes and then you have to poke it the rest of the way through with a knife.
Restaurants, at least in the US, will rather fire everyone than replace equipment

  12. @craigc1463

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

Uhm…why not slice the onion in the Tomato slicer 1st, then dice??????

  13. @christinabrown8399

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

The dicer could also be used to make raw French fries or chips, as you blokes say. Or in my vernacular, as y’all say.

  14. @sazzydove5

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

The dicer can be used for citrus and tomatoes as well.

  15. @barbarasmith2693

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

That electric peeler would be a great addition to my kitchen. One, because I have a neuro-muscular condition that sometimes affects the flexor muscles of my hands and occasionally the strength in my arms. The second reason is that I love butternut squash, but I am one of the unfortunate people who gets a skin reaction to the peel of same, so I have to wear vinyl gloves whilst peeling the thing. Slippery and awkward even when all my muscles are behaving as they should. Try just cutting peeled butternut squash into cubes, toss the cubes in olive oil and cracked black pepper and roast it so that it caramelizes. Delicious.

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

Used this machine at Dairy Queen. Very sharp. Watch you fingers, cuts so fast that you don’t know you cut yourself till you see blood or the acid from the tomato hits the cut.

  17. @user-ts1fg7uk1v

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

Mad really, as we would pay food places more and more and prices always increase for them to phase out people for a cheaper machine which in most cases they save money, claim on tax for the purchase of machines and then put more tax and the customer, and all these tools at home could be done with most things that are already in a kitchen drawer.

  18. @kamalanihurley4285

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

You two are hilarious! I’m so glad I found your channel!

  19. @lojaned

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

Lol the look Jaime gave for like five whole seconds 5:18

  20. @MaraBaelish

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

That potato ricer is so satisfying.
I would buy that tomato slicer for my home use because I love tomatoes and would eat them with every meal if I could properly slice them!!

  21. @wanderingteacup39

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

No worries. Vogue and Madonna are iconic.

  22. @sallybanner

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

I had to use a tomato slicer when I worked at burger king, fun job

  23. @Fanfis123

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

15:42 i get what you mean but if you buy an aluminum spanner/wrench it's gonna break in your hands immediately

  24. @nerd_fooddad2997

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

Almost every fast food or burger place I've worked uses the tomato slicer. You would use it to make entire hotel pans full to make an entire days prep work take 30 minutes

  25. @abigailgerlach5443

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

I got a dicer off Amazon for $28 with three different sized dice. I use it for any type of veg or fruit. It also has a container to catch the diced veg. I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. I've done onion, carrots, celery, potatoes, cucumbers, beets and peppers… so far!

  26. @AlexiconPrime

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

That first one is what we use to cut onions at A&W for onion rings

  27. @SmashPortal

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

    Tomato slicer vs mandolin?

  28. @PurpleReign1401

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

That tomato slicer will probably slice other things. For that price, I'd be tempted to buy it just to see what else I can slice.

  29. @shawnraley5944

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

I’ve used them in multiple restaurants, mainly in fast food restaurants.

  30. @sinistersistervapes7150

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

We use the same tomato slicer in Subway and Burger King in the U.S. 😊

  31. @JynxOTW

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

We use the dicer and the slicer at my restaurant daily for prep

  32. @wenwantsmusic3008

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

My son bought a hand held stainless steel version called a potato ricer. It makes a smooth mash but i never use it. He uses it a lot.

  33. @vintagethrifter2114

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

15:45 tell us that you don't use tools without telling us that you don't use tools.

  34. @bieralchemie3363

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

You would have done quite a fast slicing Job with a bigger sharper knife for sure

  35. @lisaleggette3732

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

I used that same one at a sub shop we used it everyday and it was great as long as it was sharp once it gets dull its a pain in the butt

  36. @catharinasvenkerud2728

    December 29, 2023 at 9:23 am

«Nobody’s going understand Madonna-references»…I’ll be the 0.001% that does then😂
