Is Britain Ready for No Deal?: https://youtu.be/VVTCHsJ5ncA

Yesterday Boris Johnson warned the UK to prepare for an Australia Style Brexit Deal (which is government code for No Deal). In this video, we explain how negotiations got to this point, why both sides appear to have walked away and what this means for the future of Brexit.

Just tear up the WA, the eu will never agree to anything that gives ground to the U.K. 👍🇬🇧👍

Also, I would like to know, whether the deal reached is as solid an agreement as let's say the EU-EEA agreements? Or is it likely to be adapted or something in the (not so distant) future?

Hang on: the UK withdraw their invitation to Barnier to come to London, while asking the EU to make the (first) move? I don't know about you, but to me that looks (looked) like the UK in that moment made the (first) move to withdraw from negotiations.
(However, this is old news by the time of watching and commenting. I would be interested in a – retrospective – interpretation/analysis anyway.)

Huh. The UK were keen on leaving the EU to go it all alone, to stand as an independent and also leading entity in the world, and in the end – when looking for a style of relation with the EU – they look up to Australia (not only for the relation, but also for immigration policy), and Canada. After also having taking a long glance at Norway. Where's your (announced) leadership, pals?!

"The EU says… to make sure that neither can undermine the others economy"
Zero sum economic fallacy right here.
What does it matter if the UK or EU economy is doing well to the other side?
One economy doing well does NOT mean that the other is worse off!
There is no "undermine the others economy", it does not work that way.

Good riddance to the EU. The EU is just a protectionist racket.

  10. @francoismarie9062

    December 26, 2023 at 2:43 pm

    Definitively, a no-deal Brexit will be a loose-loose deal.

EU , all they WANT, is, UK Fish, London Stock Market, Britains Military, UK,s Money for there Pensions. For them to have a better Life Style.
Better pay, more leisure time, better wages, and pensions. And UK to be worked to death. The Nasty Party has has a reputation to live up too.

I still just can't understand why the UK think they deserve an equal trade deal XD they essentially have nothing to offer and need trade with EU to survive….

If always a single party proposing a deal is just like asking your girlfriend what you wanna eat… u’ll know how hard is it..

If it is a man-man discussion for a meal, it might be a short discussion and a deal is made, but not with your girlfriend..

  15. @johncoffey1483

    December 26, 2023 at 2:43 pm

Johnson cares little either way. He is constantly looking down to say his notes as he hasn’t even bothered to learn what he wanted to say.

WHY ARE YOU LEAVING ME, BRITTAIN. wEU loved each other…..
I just wanted to go fishing sometimes and to be able to meet your cousins Ireland and Scoland.
Why you have to make it so painfull

  17. @mightymagnus

    December 26, 2023 at 2:43 pm

I think the easy deal would be for UK to join EEA like Norway

  18. @donach9

    December 26, 2023 at 2:43 pm

CETA is not completely tariff free and quota free. There are various tariffs and quotas for agricultural products. There would have to be a line by line negotiation on these if this was really what they wanted. The UK wants more than a Canada deal, Canada+, if you like. But I do think you should get this right

  19. @originaluddite

    December 26, 2023 at 2:43 pm

As an Australian I'm confused by this 'Australian style'. What have we exited lately? Heck we entered the Eurovision Song Contest in recent years. 😛

    December 26, 2023 at 2:43 pm

Hilarious (as a Canadian who won't get hurt by the fallout) to see the UK government demand concession after conceasion and ignore prior promises… and then STILL try to blame the EU. ROFL

It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.
