I really like the presentation… if it were on a cracker instead of a board

Turning a cheese board into a fancy nacho-adjacent dish XD
    Edit: Still looks delicious

I wish Barry and Jamie had taken the original cheese board and adapted it by adding extra components. In theory all they did was replace the basic ingredients with homemade ingredients using better quality ingredients rather than take the brief and make it bigger and better, which would be my definition of making something gourmet, and I don’t think it’s possible to make cheese and crackers gourmet because it’s such a simple concept with two components that cannot be altered

    That cheese board looks delicious!

Gourmet in this instance exposes Ben’s pretentious Perhaps it makes him feel superior. I think it makes him seem like a self obsessed prize Wally.

Late to the party here, but to me gourmet means that 1. Effort has been put into the creation of the final product (i.e. you didn't just open a package and put it on a plate). 2. Unique or extra seasoning has been added to elevate the original. 3. If you were to place it on a menu or package it for sale, it would have less preservatives and a shorter shelf life. 4. The cost of ingredients and labor would be higher than the original item making it more expensive and/or unique.

what a load of pretentious bullshit.

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

That’s a hot mess result 😂 somehow I can imagine it tastes delicious though. The looks…. Eh no.

  14. @pmbramucci1056

Looks like an odd sort of nachos

I really need to stop watching this at 4am when I wake up to go …. 😂 I can’t whip up this masterpiece atm but I think if the peach jelly had less gelatine and was possibly slightly frozen like a slurry and the brittle and honey slightly warm but maybe slit and added o the Edge of the plate (like a lemon slice on a cocktail glass) so it didn’t heat the actual food. Obviously this wouldn’t work with a chocolate bowl. So I’d have added more honey to the flap jack and made the bowl from that I also love fruit with my granola Especially ones with a little sour as I think every good meal should have a little smooth, a little crunch, sweet, savoury and sour I would however spend a good week considering the dish before I decided I had exactly what I wanted 😂but then I did spend 3 days contemplating whether or not to add miso to the marinade for last nights slightly spicy chicken , Caesar salad (with home grown mixed salad and minibel tomatoes, homemade feta cheese & my first attempt at caeser dressing … think I went abit heavy on the anchovies 😢) I really want to try make chocolate bowls now. Awesome dish guys. I couldn’t do that in that time. It’s the ideas that make this channel awesome … and the banter 😂

  19. @raideurng2508

It feels like a cross between cheese and crackers and nachos, of all things. Just a little bit of everything around without the organization you'd typically have with a cheeseboard.

  20. @alishaparr577

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

I think they did a great job That all sounds so yummy

  25. @kelodie3752

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

bit late here but uh, am I alone in thinking that cheese and crackers (specifically as a late night quick meal) is just a few slices of cheese torn up and chucked on a dish with a handful of whatever crackers are on hand?
Like to me what Ben put out as the basic example was already gourmet so this is more of a Make Gourmet Gourmet or a Gourmet Squared Challenge.
Which I feel the boys achieved wonderfully!

  26. @linebrunelle1004

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

    nothing snack size about it….

  27. @danniwulf8581

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

This whole disagreement is just a disagreement in lexicon between actual chefs and the internet when it comes to the word "gourmet". The normals know how to do a gourmet dish we expect because they take in food content like we do

  28. @thomaspritchard1245

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

You should do make flapjacks Gourmet

  29. @chelseadoolan4492

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

You know the movie “the menu” the ending scene looks exactly like the way the boys were serving up

This looks absolutely yummy. This can easily be classified as gourmet in my opinion. Well done Guys!!

  35. @gamerguru2924

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

That was awful presentation, should be badges removed for that absolute disaster, that's the most spaff thing I've ever seen

  36. @marablemorgan8292

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

Yes! They turned it into a piece of edible performance art .. Bravo!

  37. @PhoenixsNetwork

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

    7:03 haha, game changer

  38. @austenhead5303

    December 25, 2023 at 7:19 pm

Well that's just a messy board of bollocks.

A cheese platter is supposed to be about a small selection of interesting cheeses, accompanied by fruits and nuts with which to create complex flavour combinations, and some neutral crackers to serve as a vehicle. It's all about the selection, there is no cooking involved. You guys just made a mess for no good reason.

  39. @KelbenArunsun

Make it gourmet is basically the long version of Level Up from years ago ^^
