c: "imports from the UK will fall by around 50%", while the value of Irish exports to Northern Ireland will "increase by 40% by 2021".
The trade barriers introduced by the Northern Ireland Protocol are a blessing in disguise, since even though trade has decreased with the UK, it has increased with the Republic of Ireland.

This week a EU company LIDL told me that they HAVE PURCHASED THEIR OWN SHIP'S as EU is DELIBERTLY slowing up product and goods set for UK AND NI SO by ships hope to speed up rather than lose their excellent business base UK/NI

When the Tory muppets say that the EU is not acting in good faith. What exactly has the EU done that is wrong
other than sticking to the deal that was signed. The UK sign a deal but does not want it implemented

  7. @seanoreilly7293

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

The solution is Northern Ireland becoming part of the republic.

Johnson never told the electorate in October to December 2019 that article 16 needed to be invoked in order to "Get Brexit Done". Just for his withdrawal agreement to go through the commons upon tories winning the general election with a majority and it would be done on January 31st 2019.

Or was I just Imagining those celebrations and fireworks going off on January 31st 2020 in parliamant square with big benn going off to celebrate brexit got done?

The gullibility of the European public never ceases to amaze me! They are generally very nice friendly people but for a thousand years they have never been able to see the threat they have from their own over powerful governments. This time with all the 27 countries in the power and influence of the mostly unelected politicians they stand more chance than ever of forming a jointly shared dictatorship. Of course one powerful leader will eventually try to take over full and absolute power, and become a threat to the world once more. I pray that this time the U.K. will keep out of any fight to restore order in that lovely but crazy continent. It’s time they realised that being independent countries striving to always work in harmony, as friends is the real way to peace. No absolute rules, regulations, or threats of punishment will ever bring peace to separate countries.

the truth about the protocol and why unionists don't like it as is stated because it makes northern Ireland more integrated with the republic, making a united Ireland a far more reasonable option and makes the current situation (partition)very ridiculous. the truth is the protocol doesn't put the union at risk, Brexit put it at risk in the first place something they themselves had voted for. its not the only thing that's putting the union at risk the fact that England makes all the calls also puts the union at risk, currently NI is 2.8% of the uk's population where they would be 28% of a united Ireland.
the honest truth is its not that it shakes a solid union its that it shows the ugly side of an already bad union and shows a far more reasonable option, matter fact its the same thing that going on in wales and Scotland but in NI the protocol is a gaping hole in the unionist arguments and only shows the rest of the UK and Ireland(the island) that they are acting like screaming toddlers who aren't getting their way.

  17. @bloggalot4718

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

The Protocol was an attempt by the EU to drive a wedge between the U.K. and NI. The Protocol should not have been accepted which allows the EU to interfere in trade WITHIN the U.K.

  18. @brutallyhonest9140

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

The problem is Remainers & EU Commie jailers want to make the NI protocol as bigger obstacle as possible to lock us in. Boris had to lie to get the EU jailer's to release us any way possible then sort the problems out later which is exactly what he is doing. Its just the Brainless Remoaner remainer & the EU Commies hate it as we are out and stuffing the Jailers who hate us being free.

  19. @ThePlayerOfGames

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

A solution to this problem is for Westminster to actually respect the sovereignty of other organisations for once rather than crying about it's own whilst it sells all credibility in itself down the river

  21. @nanderv

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

The EU should just take the UK to some international court over bad faith negociating. Signing a deal with the goal of ripping it up a year later is not a solid way to treat your neighbours.

  22. @ciaranquigley763

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

Solution is either a border poll and a united Ireland or UK rejoin single market

  23. @geraldaird1548

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

There have always been two solutions:
1 Unification of both parts of Ireland.
2 Britain to join the SM and CU.

  24. @Parasmunt

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

As an Irishman, the EU had better not shaft us on this.

  25. @esau93631

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

Only solution is for Ireland to become united and forcibly remove any loyalist who try to stop it. England started this dumpster fire, The people of Northern Ireland and Scotland should not have to pay the price. Unfortunately for Scotland it will be a longer harder journey to become independent and rejoin the EU.

  26. @JJAmes-mb4du

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

Aren't each of the EU member nations responsible checking goods coming into the EU? Isn't this Irelands problem?

  27. @douglastodd1947

Lisbon Treaty states once a member state leaves and becomes a 3rd. Country all laws deals. treaty's protocols cease to apply. WA meant to kick in 1/2/20 but as we left without a Valid Treaty , WA would have fell by the wayside as well. meaning NO DEAL 11pm 31st.January 2020 and sat for 15 month before eventually getting a TCA TREATY April 2021 well past the WA or NIP sell by dates.

  30. @mazavl7064

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

Is that illegitimate to trigger article 16? If so…why it exists in the protocol then….

  31. @hglbrg

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

So the wealthy men of the tories aren't happy they can't use their shell companies to basically freely import from and export to Ireland (EU) into England (non-EU) via Northern Ireland? That's all it is about: Their personal plans to operate on the free market of EU when it benefits them and use their other shell companies earning them billions for the UK market vs EU market when that benefits them? All you hear are con artists trying to use the political stage to get richer.

  32. @Desert-Father

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

Why is TLDR News mindless repeating government talking points? If you're going to post the text of Article 16 on the video, then you should quote it accurately. The Article doesn't allow unilateral suspension of the entire protocol just safeguard measures that are narrow in both scope and duration. If I wanted to listen to news that mindlessly parrots British government talking points, I'd watch the BBC.

  33. @orionspero560

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

I think everybody is underestimating just how how forcefully the US would respond to any undermining of the protocol in favor of the Union over the Catholic plurality. This means that whether or not forest Johnson will actually tear it through on his threats can be summarized as is he getting good intelligence that the US reaction will be a 1000 times worse than the media is suggesting or does he think she can handle it?

My instinct on the level of national security reaction of the United States would include some or all of the following: Breaking off diplomatic relations with the UK, The 3 elements of the triad each by itself being set to be prepared to annihilate the UK on 15 minutes notice , A quarter million US military personnel on the island of Ireland, and/or 4US Carrier groups in the IRC sea enforcing the I received order with Uis er with US military force and Irish-Republic/provo inspectors.

  34. @eblita3698

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

Meanwhile as UK and EU keep arguing, I suppose that NI automatically build out even more trade with Ireland?

  35. @Anonymos321

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

What I think is that BoJo isn't serious.

  36. @Randleray

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

So in real tldr: Jhonson ignored EVERY single concern about the Brexit and stuff, but repeatedly threatened the EU with a protocol GB and the EU have agreed on to work with long long before the Brexit was even a real idea. Which, once again, leads to the long known conclusion: GB does not want to follow EU rules, but still wants to keep all benefits of the EU market.

  37. @kahhowong3417

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

Brexit arguments between UK and EU reminds me of the early days in peace talks between North and South Korean, when they spent most early days negotiating on the shape of the negotiating table. After more than half a century, there is still no peace or trade between North and South Korean. Looks like Brexit Britain best open up trade negotiations with Russia and China.

Just give n irelsnd back to the Republic problem solved 🤷

  39. @nlbergsma

    December 24, 2023 at 7:48 pm

If the NIP is knackered the EU/RoI would have to put up a border on the island of Ireland. But WOULD they have to? Trade in non-certified goods, goods that DO need certication, is prohibited in the EU. . intensifying spot checks and dishing out some hefty fines WITHIN the RoI/EU would suffice to discourage the import into the EU/RoI of un-certified goods from GB. And when even then some smuggling might occur this would cause less problems than a hard border.

EU bullies Greece, Hungary, Poland and others. What can the UK expect? to be treated fairly?
