For the Hot-Dogger there's a funny Lauri Anderson story about having to cook hotdogs after a show in Germany with a lamp cord and timing it just right before it would explode.

I remember having a vega-matic growing and even being allowed to use it as a small child

Apparently, Westmark is still selling this aluminium ice crusher for less than 20 EUR.

Okay but the hot dogger was hilarious and kinda neat. Very much a novelty, now. Electrocute your weiner with delicious results!

    Samuel J "POOP-ill"
    Really???
Couldn't be bothered to Google the correct pronunciation?🙈

My family had the ice crusher and hot dog cooker. Yes, we used them. The Vegomatic was not well liked in the day.

  7. @cwiskus4956

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

With the hotdogger I wonder how it would handle uncooked sausage

  8. @FiXato

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

I wonder if you can make panko with that hotdogger

  9. @littlebigman6957

    What is a gif.???

  10. @timothyovermyer8924

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

With the chopper you prolly should've used the tomatoes first, the potatoes an onions prolly dully the hell out of those blades lol

I'm 62, born and in the US. We had the Presto hot dogger! I got burned on those spikes more than once!

Chafing table, not just for dinner parties, great for family style eating too. Sometimes people want seconds but you don't want it to get cold by the time you come to it

  13. @Sara_Oh

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

A shame James didn't get to test the Vegematic 😀

  14. @omiai

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

gentle reminder that the word 'jobbie' or 'jobbies' in scotland means poo. so hearing it in other contexts makes me laugh like a child XD

  15. @bluelagoon1980

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

Ebbers' lip bite as he says "hot dogger" for the first time is too cute. Sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon.

  16. @cindystrachan8566

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

We still have the ice crusher. The VegOMatic works better with the store-bought less-than-ripe tomatoes. And our Hotdogger left the inside of the hot dog unappealingly burnt and the meat not as hot as you’d like.

  17. @sarahpurcell1109

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

Soy sauce added to caramel to top ice-cream…..? I'd be down for trying that 😅

  18. @ambhaiji

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

    $80 or £46
    Me: huh? checks publish date
also me: ah ok that makes sense

  19. @volundrfrey896

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

I love that the hot dogger is literally the same as cutting an extension cord and sticking one lead into each side of the hot dog, it's so sketchy but the cheap plastics gives some level of false security.

  20. @Liveordiebyinches

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

I do believe voltage to hot dog is a logarithmic function of some sort and not a linear one.
Please put this on my epitaph.

  21. @shepshape2585

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

I love the fact that these guys were able to keep a straight face on the "hot dogger" gadget. In Britain, "dogging" is a type of porn where a woman goes to a car park and has relations with multiple random strangers.

  22. @BitmapFrogs

Could they guy in the grey shirt get out the way of the cum sign please 😂

  26. @davidreed9615

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

The Hotdogger reminds me of that Cornballer on Arrested Development, which I can only assume is a parody of the Hotdogger.

  27. @mkmig96

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

My grandparents had the Hot Dogger, I remember making hot dogs with one when I was a kid.

  28. @maeverobertson1108

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

How about a mouli? And I had to argue with my auto-correct not to let it spell in French. I'm old so I've had mine for at least oh say 50 years. I still use mine.

  29. @ITKurly

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

As a kid we had a Hot Dogger because my parents thought it was a safer way for us to make hot dogs when we were home alone before they got off work.

  30. @ian3314

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

Omg my mom has the white pot part of the table chef box art.

Totally off topic but what was he drinking the can looked cool

  32. @MrFunreal

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

seeing ebbers peek from under the cooking surface was the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

  36. @Tomp4ul

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

Speaking of cooking with electricity, I believe panko breadcrumbs are made with electrically cooked bread.

  37. @mndlessdrwer

    December 24, 2023 at 5:48 pm

Those slice-o-matic and the like plunger-style slicing tools are absolutely not something that last. The blades need to be impeccably sharp to handle softer foods like tomato and egg without just destroying it. So, unless you can buy replacement blades for your particular model, then you shouldn't bother over-spending on it because you'll just have to throw it out in 3-5 years, or less, when the blades go dull. In the meantime, while it's still sharp, it's absolutely brilliant.
