I was cooking from the Packs App for the first time a couple days ago. As the curry simmered I calmly began cleaning the kitchen. I have NEVER calmly done anything while cooking, certainly not clean! I typically just stare at pots in panic waiting to see what I screw up, how did you fix me? My lovely Sorted Chefs are MAGIC! And it was delicious. Thank you for the amazing cooking help, can’t wait to make another recipe!

That cutlery would be nice to keep in my drawer at work. I usually use plastic disposable from restaurants, but that's not ideal.

1): NOPE. Way too dear for a teapot. 2): Too fussy on the Prepdeck. 3): The portable cutlery??? For sure!!! But NOT at that price.

I am so happy to hear that James does the samething as me which is to separate ingredients on the chopping board and add them to the pan from time to time❤

You could do the same as the prepdeck with your own dishes or plastic wear. And not spend over 200$
@TsukiKatana
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
Honestly, the PrepDeck might be really useful to store things. For example, have a container dedicated to flour, sugar, spices, then the tiny cups can be used to hold seasoning you're actively using, or if you're touching raw meat it can hold the thing you're putting on it and it keeps you out of the bigger containers.

The mayonese maker is a valid gadget. That is a surprise that almost non of the food processors, mixers has a solution of helping making mayo. That is also a plus that it does not require electricity.
The micro grilling plate could be very good if you only have a micro at your workplace or a campus kitchen.

the ultimate smart kitchen; still no working sink
@Whizzo
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
I feel like if the prepdeck was slightly larger it would be much better. Like James said it's copying what a professional kitchen would have. Though a DIY kit or something from ikea would do something similar, as all you need is some rails and tupperwares that fit. I do like the smaller containers within for the onion and garlic, and the spice holders are fairly redundant and add more washing up (maybe adding a set of measuring spoons would be better)
@sammieqt_
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
I think the big positives for the PrepDeck is space-saving and ease of tool access. All the little lids have a different tool on them — a grater, then it clips onto the container, and you don't have shredded cheese flying everywhere (as an example).
I like to just use bowls and separate things on my cutting board too, but right now I only have one small countertop to prep on. I just don't have enough space to use 3 bowls for ingredients AND my cutting board. That's where I think the PrepDeck shines: apartment dwellers with not a lot of kitchen space. It can live on your countertop, and when you're ready to cook, it unfurls into a cutting board (not sure I trust the board myself, it seems flimsy) but also a space to keep your prepped items. Personally, my knife skills are still slow, so to get the best out of my ingredients I do all my mise en place before I begin cooking. And that's where the PrepDeck would work well for me. Especially with my limited space, if I needed thin slices (which I'm not skilled enough to do by hand), I don't have the counter space to use a mandolin. Oh, the deck has a mandolin lid! That makes it much easier.

That rack pack thing could be used for a large spice container type deal possibly, but as it's intended use I agree it looks far too bulky and extra lol

I usually do mise en place because I do a lot of Asian cooking, so I have a stack of plastic boxes that came with mushrooms in them, and some washed out individual cat food tins for small stuff. Works fine and no need to spend £300. Then when they get manky you chuck them in the recycling and you'll have bought some more mushrooms by then anyway for a replacement.

The cutlery one strikes me as something that you just leave in your car and use when needed. I have definitely wanted something like that before
@JudithOpdebeeck
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
why would you put a fake sink in a kitchen?!
@BillOweninOttawa
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
That fork at the resto has been in 25,000 mouths. Was it washed properly? And even it was. . .
Outlery solves that.
@BillOweninOttawa
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
The food prep system is idiotic as it solves nothing.
@tom_something
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
The Outlery has a tiny handle radius, for pretty much no reason. I couldn't determine from pictures whether it's oblong or circular, but either way at that ratio there's a torque issue with anyone who has limited grip innately (arthritis, fewer than ten fingers, and more), or in grip-threatening situations like rainy or cold weather. Think a little less spaghetti and a little more fettuccine on that handle. It would make a difference.

One of the gadge that I like with this vid was the Outlery cutlery set. However the cost was a bit too much for me. But I was able to find an almost identical product for half the price. It is great! I work in an office and to help save money I pack my lunch nearly every day and this type of product is perfect! At first I simple throw tin into my lunch box when I get it together, but I had purchased a simple bento box that had an elastic band that held it together and it stretched enough to hold the tin as well. I've been using my cutlery set for over a year and haven't had any problems with it in that time. For any one looking to replace their plastic cutlery for lunches, cookouts or picnic I would say look into the Outlery, but if you can find a cheaper version, like I did, that would be even better.

Can't believe anyone would pay £40 for the cutlery – I got 2 lovely compact stainless steel sets in their own neoprene bags with can and bottle opener for less than £10 – mugs
@andy70d35
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
Cant see any point in the prepdeck, maybe if you were to prepare the ingredients the night before, so it was all ready for you coming home the next day, but I just do the same as James does, if I use ingredients from a tin then the tin gets used to add the water if required, or from the chopping board into the pan, it is not even worth £50 let alone £227.
Outlery is a great idea, hate plastic cutlery, so would be great to even keep in the car.

Burn the coffee. The best thing about this is I have 6 coffee trees in my garden which is in one if the first countries coffee was grown and where the port and city called mocha . We just pour boiling water over finely ground coffee and I've never tasted better. Indian style sweet tea is also enjoyed and that is stewed for ages. The prep deck meh. I use a round plastic tray which is divided into 5 and is actually for putting out snacks like nuts and nachos with dips but is still 1 dish to wash. Plus one small bowl go to the the spice cupboard add all the spices for the dish put on my music and there you are

So not is it only ridiculously expensive you have to decant everything and put it in there like i could throw all my stuff into one bowl or just a couple and not have to wash all of that you've got to wash all of that when you're done. It's like they're trying to bring the beauty of mise en place, And bring it to the home cook but here's the thing run down to the dollar store pick yourself up a couple of sets a small glass bowls or metal. Half of them come with lids. Stack em up stick them on a baking tray throw it in your fridge. 300 dollars 300 dollars for plastic. I don't know about yall but that's a good portion of my rent. I mean am I the only person that struggles to pay their bills sometimes. I just can't see working that hard putting all the time in that it takes to earn that $300 And throwing it away on that. I had to work really hard for my money and that just seems like a slap in the face for it to be that expensive. I realized they have a dream and clearly several people back to the enough for them product to be considered somewhat successful but here's the thing you can log on to amazon and find something similar for 40 bucks. If not specifically amazon japan. They have all kinds of stuff that set up like that for you to keep by your cooking station. Which you would still have to do can't every product into and then go through and clean it all up. I suppose i'm just aghast. However if you have the money in this is something you truly think you would enjoy it's your life. I'm just in shock.
@MrKirby365
December 24, 2023 at 1:44 pm
Are you kidding me at first I thought it was almost three hundred dollars but then I realized with the american conversion it is not happening. I occasionally love finding something to spend a ridiculous portion of money on. But this is fully no no no I can't believe they got so many people to back them. No

I feel that the “power of the gods” that enabled that cutlery to fit in that box was also invoked when the snooker cue was invented
