0:46 Ngl, the electric peeler acc looks pretty good.
I usually hate single use gadgets that take up space 3:36 & I would prefer it to be higher quality/ more durable, but I struggle so much peeling potatoes that I'd be happy as long as it does the job right.

I'm really pleased with this! It works like a charm https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ Takes less time than my old electric sharpener because it can take more off the knife faster, and then it smooths out nicely with the finer grit polisher. I don't know how long it will last before the grit wears away, but I wouldn't mind having to replace it every once in a while.

Ebbers lots of us think like you do and that comment about the letters was crazy genius in my book. Faxing the same way – now there is something I could not have figured out like ever. Thanks for the insight and continual laughter at you boys. ❤

The sharpener reminds me of the knife sharpener I have been using for about 15 years, a sharpener I found so effective, that I made a point of bringing it with me when I moved from the US to Australia 6 years ago, and it's still regularly used, and is still effective and easy. It might not (it isn't) the best sharpening tool I've used (the stone) but for convenience, and simplicity, and a very serviceable sharpening, it's perfect. The brand I use is the SATA Disc Sharpener, which is very much of the same mold. Just a floating piece of hardened metal with a grade, only the sata is two sharpening discs which rotate. and it cost me 3 bucks. Maybe give that one a try.

I'm blind, that automatic peeler would be amazing, it's not always dexterity issues!
Also you could have it peeling the next potato whilst you tidy up and shave any blemishes. Or maybe buy multiple for mass catering

I sharpen knives using Japanese whetstone and hone with a steel regularly, however I can see the use of the any sharp can be useful for a certain demographic…that noise though 🤢

That knife sharpener is like $50 now on Amazon India and you got it for under $10 or $12, depending on conversion rates…….

The potato peeler would be good for somebody like myself. I'm disabled, but it's not a dexterity issue its sight loss. So being able to have consistently well peeled potatoes and no risk of skinning my hand (so could be good for cooking with children too).
Alternatively you could peel a potato whilst it is peeling one saving you time (if you have space for one

That branding iron definitely screams Jamie, I imagine him with a nice whiskey at a family bbq in the summer branding each burger with everyone’s names just to make that extra impact 😂😂

December 24, 2023 at 2:45 pm
Anysharp works well, use it every now and again, and still use the steel to hone the knifes.
@BigRed334
December 24, 2023 at 2:45 pm
Ben a steel does not sharpen a knife it corrects the apex edge of a knife.

I got a rotato back in the early 2000's and it stripped a gear on the 4th use. I was only peeling apples for charoset. I prefer unpeeled but I have a whiny relative who doesn't like apple skin.
@bluereenie2
December 24, 2023 at 2:45 pm
That knife sharpener . . . ordered it! So much easier than the steel, which I have to push myself to use whenever I grab a knife. I spend too much time trying to keep my knives sharp.

I have a portable version of the any knife sharpener- I use it on bat 🦇 rescues to sharpen scissors for fruit netting – my tall clippers for bats suspended in the air – even my bolt cutters for barbed wire rescues – it’s amazing to have on hand ❤️🦇

Man, that first gadget brings back some memories…
Back when I was a kid, my mother ended up buying a version of the first gadget that was hand-cranked. I had no clue until subscribing to Sorted and watching these incredible vids that they MADE an automated one! And I gotta say I HATED the hand-crank one, cause it just was too hard to get right on the potato. Once it was on, the crank simply sucked but it went alright, and much smoother than if I had used a handheld potato peeler, that's for certain. I would have LOVED the automated one cause that would have made making dinner with mom so much easier, amazingly so.
@joeydehart3429
December 24, 2023 at 2:45 pm
I have made an observation about the speed of the peeler in the race. When peeling most people will not be peeling in race speed. So your normal peeling speed is likely on par or maybe even not as good as the autopeeler.
@bennyboy1633

You could brand steaks with how rare/medium etc they are cooked if you've got shit waiters and a lot of time to kill.
@BadlandsGecko

The potato peeler…I can see using it to peel one potato while you’re cutting another.

@moniquem783

If the rotato didn’t sound like a poltergeist screaming in pain, I’d probably get one. No way I’m listening to that as I cook.

Ebbers chugging apple skin is something I’ll never forget.
