If you can rate Attlee first but then Thatcher 2nd then really you don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. One was a virtual saint, the other the devil.

  2. @alessandrocarpi9898

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

The best Prime Ministers were Clement Attlee and Tony Blair.

I'd like to see a modern adaptation of this, I feel like people would rate theresa may more highly. Now we're 4 years out of her premiership and have felt the consequences of a hard Brexit, I think people would appreciate May's attempt to navigate a softer brexit deal with europe.

  4. @johnmorris1009

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

In my lifetime, i'd rank them as follows:
    1. Blair
    2. Major
    3. Brown
    4. Thatcher
    5. Cameron
    6. May
    7. Sunak
    8. Truss
    9. Johnson

Eden was judged the worst mainly over the Suez Canal crisis. Not fair. What he did was right, but America just didnt support them.

Clement Attlee was the greatest prime minister post WW2.

Well Johnson, Truss and Sunak will all soon outdo May as worst PM's ever.

So if these are the facts – why are so many people anti labour?

No way Wilson is above Macmillan. Ridiculous ranking

  16. @jtmeister8530

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

I am an American, but have been fairly interested in British politics. Based on what I have read, Churchill is by far the best prime minister both on policy and on popularity. I feel like people like Blair, Atlee, and the majority of the others are getting proped up way more than they should be, especially Blair, he sucked.

  17. @alexanderstewart9104

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

I would have said Churchill because we see him as hero who is placed on a pedestal but I'm going to listen to the academics they know more than me

  18. @gianni_4

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

Labour ploughed the dregs starting with Blair and Brown .The Tories even worse . Johnson , Sunak etc , etc , etc . With a succession of corrupt . inept and outright useless individuals like these no wonder our Country is F…….d !

  24. @farhanshahid7680

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

    Blair was the best

  25. @cald1421

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

May deserves a second shot. She’s a brilliant parliamentarian and better than what the Conservatives have served up since Boris left. She was dealt the worst hand imaginable and had her hands tied. Without that bullshit boulder I think she really could do great

  26. @cald1421

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

Lol. Clement Atlee and Tony Blair fans. I WONDER what the political biases of those “experts” are. Typical leftist academia. Can’t trust them at all. At least they’re fair on the economy and foreign policy

  27. @davidbrock2871

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

The postwar PM who has provided most benefit to the greatest number of people has to be Clem Atlee. This is surely the only criterion with the highest value.

  31. @sunny96789

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

Margaret Thatcher for me was the best, don't really like Churchill for what he did and said about India, he was a racist.

  32. @rad4924

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

My favourite post war Prime Minister will always be Benjamin Disraeli. (I assume the war referred to here was the Napoleonic War, right?)

  33. @LeeCaithness

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

The next time you’re ill and you don’t die because your card got declined, remind yourself that Clement Attlee was far and away our greatest prime minister.

War criminal! Am I right boys?

  35. @XandraDave

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

Team Attlee all the way here. The best things about the UK are all the parts of Attlee’s legacy the Tories haven’t yet managed to destroy

    4) may
    5) Johnson and truss

  38. @hammedburger8231

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

Why is asking a a bunch of academics more scientific than anything else? The word ‘experts’ should be taken lightly.

  40. @bryanjones374

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

How can you even consider Blair ad a good Prime Minister he did more damage to the UK than any other Prime minister in many ways, and his actions may be the main reason the UK will break up Ie giving Scotland and Wales their own parliaments when there was no need and labour lost the majority in Scotland since also presided over selling our gold reserves at the worse possible time !! Plus many other failings

  41. @TreeBear

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

wonder how truss will do with her 45 days of tenure.

  42. @shzwon123

    where does Lizzy stand here

  45. @mildlydispleased3221

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

    Top 5 post-war PMs

    Clement Attlee
    Harold Wilson
    Gordon Brown
    James Callaghan
    Tony Blair

  46. @jorbennoten9536

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

Can't wait to see how low truss will score

  47. @AxelQC

    December 22, 2023 at 11:59 pm

While the rankings were based on post-war criteria, defeating Hitler and saving Europe from Fascism, and then saving it from Communism, should count for more than anything any other PM ever did. Since you cut it off just before Churchill's WWII leadership, it really negates his impact on global history.
