It won't last. Ken Clarke who was an excellent chancellor has pointed out that the Octonaut should concentrate on the numbers not the politics. Unfortunately rather than consider what they did wrong we just got another statement saying the same thing. You can lead a horse to water…..

One hour from the insolvency of fifteen major Pension funds.
As always the Tories have lost control of the economy due to their excessive borrowing and refusal to tax thecrich

There were strong rumours IMF Conspired with ECB to shoot down Black Messiah Kwasi Kwarteng Mini-Budget, the run too was Conspiracy but with US participants, apparently all parties agreed Kwasi Kwarteng Mini-Budget would get out of current ECB imposed Financial systems. IMF is the conspirator!
Black Messiah Mini-Budget shall be the Gospel to kill current financial system. ECB feared components of Mini-Budget could expose it's incompetent.

Sounds like this commentator is desperately spinning the markets going from worrying to just plain bad as a major recovery… it is still not good… However, the BOE is doing it's best to calm the markets but the current level of intervention is not sustainable for long and the markets know it. UK Govt needs to be doing more to outline a path to budget repair and economic recovery that is not going to blow up the economy as rt now it looks like the rich will benefit heavily from the latest budget measures while the poor and middle class will get royally screwed by the coming rate rises causing a big drop in discretionary spending for all but the rich. Would be nice if the Truss Govt gave some thought to an energy policy that incentivised power generation by methods that were not extremely expensive rt now, that is how you save the economy by lowering power prices and not with indefinite unaffordable subsidies. You can't trust the market forces to sort this sort of thing out, electricity generation is a very capital intensive business and incentives are required to get anything done relatively quickly.

Why do they force pension funds to hold these trashy assets from Banana Republics like the UK? In my view they should be forced to own a proportion of their assets in gold, which has never 'defaulted' in 5,000 years.

Watch as Will Kensington expresses concern about the state of the UK, arguing that Downing Street is no longer a place of power but has instead become Britain’s most expensive Airbnb.

This comes as Andy Burnham is set to become the UK’s seventh Prime Minister in a decade, with seemingly no one challenging the “King of the North” for the country’s top job.
