I usually use chicken stock for my recipe rather than salt. It has a savory flavor and is great for vegetarians. I don't know if vegans eat chicken stock, or if that's off the list.

Looks so yummy. BTW, Stephen Fry on Qi, revealed that vertical or horizontal stripes do not matter. The idea is a myth. Love your cooking.

Cacophony is actually an ancient Greek term from the words kakos, meaning bad, and phōnē, meaning sound to form kakophōnos. It went through a French romanization with the k turning to c but it’s still Greek in origin since the meaning came from that root.

Traditionally you would use the ends of the vegetables to make the sauce. I'd prefer roasting them first. A ratatouille is about making the little things and scraps matter to make the whole sum. Hence why the Ratatouille movie is about a cooking rat.

I dont like red pepers. I use eggplant (aubergine) , tomato, carrot, potator, zucchini, onion, black peper, olive oil and salt. And when i want more healthy, i don't use tomato sauce industrialized. I'm from Brasil. I'm going to try yours recipe to see if a can be able to eat red papers. Or yeloow pepers

I usually chop up my veg, toss it in olive oil thyme and seasoning, then roast it until it's just starting to brown. While that's in the oven I'll make a tomato sauce then pour the sauce all over the veg and cook it together until the sauce is reduced 🙂

what you see in the movie is not the real ratatouille. It's a variation named "Confit byaldi". And almost nobody eat ratatouille this way at home in France. The spirit of ratatouille is to be a simple peasant dish easy to do, that don't take a long time to prepare. And tin can ?????? this is the ultimate nightmare for anyone who like to cook.

But… Cacophony means a discordant array of sounds… aka… a horrible noise… so if you're creating a cacophany of flavours… you're creating a horrible sounding flavour… I think you meant to say "A symphony of flavour"

The ratatouille that I make is more of a veggie stew than what you guys made. Similar veggies but cut in to cubes.

Never heard of a non-vegetarian Ratatouille before
