The All-American Burger | #BeatMyBurger ep.4
All conjured up for Chester See… A soft brioche bun, glazed with maple and finished with bacon crumb holds the all American burger. 100% home-ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper is shaped into a 1/2 pounder, and topped with a duo of molten and oozing Monterey Jack and blue cheese as well as three rashers of crispy streaky bacon. All this is cleverly balanced out by fresh raw red onion rings, oak leaf lettuce and lashings of homemade tangy and sour chive ranch dressing. To hold it together it’s spiked with a skewer, but not any old skewer, one laden with 3 crispy, golden southern fried peppers.
Check out Chester here: https://www.youtube.com/user/chestersee

My family is a mix of German, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian….somewhere our family found a dish we call Ribbledutch. It's a batter similar to waffle or pancake and after it's poured into a hot buttered skillet is basically scrambled for lack of a better term. It's cut up in the pan as it's just setting and scrambled around so it cooks into little roundish chunks the size of peas up to marbles.. we then use butter and sugar or butter and syrup to eat it. It's so yummy and was always a treat!!

A quick thought on the pancake cerel / cereal pancakes: Why not put a little melted butter in the batter and cook them in the oven? No tossing required.
And if you're going to have corn flakes with the pannacotta, line the dishes with powdered corn flakes before putting them in the fridge to set. They'll come out nicely without the need for a blowtorch.

The joy and pride on James’ face seeing Jamie preheat his oven for the Big Mac triangles was so wholesome ☺️ I can’t imagine the reaction he’d have if he ever sees Barry turn the hob off when he’s finished with it because it’s such an unlikely event the entire studio could have a simultaneous heart attack because he’s forever leaving hobs on with no utensils on them 😂

There's no ketchup in a Big Mac and you've put it in twice

Am I the first to notice that these "tiny pancakes" are Dutch poffertjes (which have probably been around for 1000 years, long before the advent of Tiktok)?

My folks taught me how to make crepes when I was 5 years old. My favourite part was when I was testing out the battter and frying out a bunch of drops in butter.

Little late, I know, but as for the pancake cereals: Look into the Dutch dish called "Poffertjes". Those are like that, but slightly bigger and made in a special pan.

James’ calm level headed approach mixed with his really dry sarcastic humour makes him a really interesting person, he knows he is a very skilled chef and rarely panics which is such a refreshing thing to watch, watching the normals panic and flutter when things start to go wrong is amazing but the chefs calm approach is seriously underrated

As much as the little pancakes are a novelty item and are a pain to make, I think instead of using them for breakfast they could instead be used to make a cool dessert option, something a bit boozy and chocolatey I think would be delicious

those mini pancakes are called in the netherlands poffertjes

Why wouldn’t you just make big pancakes which is easier and then cut them up? I assume I must be missing something but I don’t know what

The coffee looks good, but it's midnight and I want Starbucks!
Pancake cereal? Too much effort for too little return.
Big mac pockets – just buy a big mac.
The last dessert(?) looked yummy!

that whipped coffee would be amazing over like, french vanilla ice cream. or hell, just on its own with a dusting of powdered sugar. i'm not sure what the point of the milk is supposed to be.

Speaking as someone who normally hates American cheese, Big Mac flavor requires American cheese

You could have done a cereal milk panna cotta to make it more breakfast infused!

December 17, 2023 at 8:11 pm
There use to be a mini pancake cereal in the early 2000s, it didn't last long at all. Just make a short stack and use a cookie cutter or something to cut into mini pancakes that you then deep fry to make a crunchy cereal, that's how we did it when that cereal was discontinued and we were smoking tough as teens

Maybe the pancake one'd be easier if you just took a regular pancake and punched a bunch of tiny holes in it.

2:10 Why would you put ice in there? As the ice melts, it'd water down the milk, and thus changing the flavour of the drink. Ew.

Is the big mac in the UK different or something? Over here its patties, three buns, lettuce, onion, pickle, cheese, and thousand island dressing. Those didn't have any lettuce, and the dip wasn't even remotely close to thousand island dressing, and why the ketchup in the meat? I'm really kind of confused by that one.
@cheez4208

I call the Big Mac Triangles pocket burgers, I also cook them in the oven instead of the deep fryer.
