2018 revisit please! Try multiple Satay recipes??

    I've found a great one:

    1. A couple of tablespoons of peanut oil + ginger/garlic paste
    2. A medium/large sized jar of spiced fruit chutney (your own choice)
    3. A couple of tablespoons of white vinegar
    4. Peanut butter (no salt and no sugar version)
    5. Your own balance of curry powder, chilli powder and satay seasoning.
    6. Splashes of water if needed.

    Malaysia satay is the best!!!

  7. @weii_out9346

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

In my opinion, satay should be enjoyed with the sauce alone and not one rice. Unless you guys make nasi impit which is practically rice packed together tightly and cut in cubes. It also can be served with onions and cucumber btw

  8. @epulkyu

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

satay actually better if you smoke grill em with charcoals… its the original way

Chicken Satay is never baked you guys are failures

  14. @bakersworldmark6417

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Instead of plain rice, use 'nasi impit' (nah-see eem-peet) which is rice packed tightly in banana leaf and steamed. Best to use sliced onions and cucumber as another side dish

  15. @bakersworldmark6417

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

There are three types of meat commonly use in Malaysia which is chicken, mutton and beef.

  16. @bakersworldmark6417

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

If you want that authentic smoky like flavor, try using a charcoal grill. Best to do this outside during the holidays or the weekend!

  17. @Nyuum

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I live in Singapore and here satays have more of a caramelised layer on them and this enhances the succulent meat even more 😀

  18. @LusfiYaakob

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

    I love Malaysian satay.

  22. @burnupover

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Oh come on, people! It doesn't even matter if it's coming from Indonesia or Malaysia. Seriously. If it taste really good, people will like it. If it's not, then people will not eat it. Simple as that. It's a waste of time fighting about food. sigh

  23. @rubiyatahira6031

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Please, Satay or sate was from Madura, East Java, INDONESIA:)

  25. @achmadanshori8037

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

WHY THE FUCK IS EVERYONE SAYS IF SATAY IS FROM MALINGSIAL!!!,
SATAY IS ORIGINATED IN MADURA, EAST JAVA, INDONESIA

however Thailand also have satay too, actually every country have their version of satay, EXEPT MALINGSIAL

  26. @TheMaheshwarbarik

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

    satay originated from indonesia….

  27. @loveCanberra

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I really have no idea the origin of satay. Although my country (Thailand) also has satay, I am rather sure that it's not originated in Thailand. By the way, my Aussie friend has cooked satay with peanut butter sauce as well. It's incredibly delicious ^_^

Ben got a looott thinner. Or is it just me

  30. @ThinlyCut90

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

The best thing about satay sauce is that you can make some in advance and store them for a good long while in the fridge.

  31. @TiffEatsCookies

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

The origin of Satay was from Indonesia, but it was taken into taken variations in other countries. Malaysia happens to be the most popular country for Satay, more than Indonesia. That is why it is commonly mistaken as the country of origin for Satay.

  32. @Ale502703

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Oh! Ben looks cute and young with that hairstyle

  33. @BudakZamAnSkaRang12

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

I'm so thankful they didn't just leave it as a Chinese dish^^

  34. @MonicaSterling

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Rather than correcting them where they may have been too specific or wrong, I'd like to give Ben credit for caring enough not to simply chalk it up as simply a "Chinese" dish, which is what many happily ignorant people consider synonymous to "Asian."

  35. @cuttiepie211200

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

satay is you could say "born" in Indonesia. But all over south east Asia, every country has its own version

  36. @kedaovar

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

    awsome

  37. @longhairedhippie1

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

  38. @alienbiz

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

    Satay is Malaysian

  39. @Indras25

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

Dream on, Satay is Indonesian. You can claim anything you want, but history will tell you the truth.

  40. @Indras25

    January 7, 2024 at 9:10 pm

    Satay is INDONESIAN
