What high inflation means in the UK – BBC News
Inflation in the UK is at its highest rate for 30 years, having risen to 5.4% in the 12 months to December.
The jump in the cost of living is being driven largely by rising fuel and energy costs.
Right now, prices are rising so quickly that the money people earn does not go as far, putting further pressure on households
The BBC’s consumer affairs correspondent, Colletta Smith, breaks it down.

At least 27 dead and hundreds evacuated after strike on Kyiv warehouse | BBC News
Twenty-seven people have been killed and almost 400 evacuated after a Russian strike hit a warehouse near Kyiv, triggering a fire and a series of explosions.
Regional governor Tymur Tkachenko said a further 42 people, including four children, were injured after the Russian drone strike in the Bucha district.
An investigation has been launched into whether ammunition was being stored at the site, where search and rescue operations were ongoing early on Saturday.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence said in a statement that its forces had targeted “an ammunition depot” in the Kyiv region village of Myla, which stores “components and launch boosters for FP-1/FP-2 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles”.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the strike, saying that more than 300 emergency respondents had been deployed to the strike area.

Do you think it’s fare that many respectable companies have boycotted Russia to help Ukraine win the war and Rishi Sunaks wife is profiteering 8 million pounds a year from a company operating in Moscow.

Why are the interest rates rising, when the economy has not been growing since 2008 and neither have the wage rate. The inflation rates should be going down, If it were not for the the oil and commodity prices which have gone up substantially due to the imprudence of the Government.
It is the responsibility of the Government to counter the negative implications of the Ukraine Russian war on the UK economy. Higher interest rates or imposition of new taxes are going to spoil the cost-of-living crisis even more further than correcting it. The tax rates are already stifling the general public when the British boy is talking of imposing more and new taxes on the people. Since the people are suffering and the MPs serving the people are already well off, they should forego taking salaries and benefits from the Government till the situation improves instead of imposing more taxes on the people. The Governor of the Federal Reserve should be fired for not keeping inflation under control which is the sole responsibility of the Federal Reserve Bank

I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? I put it all back and traded with her again and now I'm rounding up close to a million.

The inflation is caused by an increase in the money supply ie Q.E or money printing which all Western govenments have been doing. The only way to solve it is cut governemt spending and raise interest rates to the level of inflation which will put the econony into recession .The government dont want you to know this and point the finger at anyone but themselves.
Inflation is the tax payeble on all the money printing that has taken place.

The thing is, we're not all in the same boat. Plenty of people are still going out to expensive pubs and restaurants. The people who earn the most money are affected the least here, so we're not exactly all facing the same worries

Why the gas/electricity/fuel prices are hiking so much? UK doesn’t get them from Russia but North Sea, should not be impacted like this, higher than Europe and US. It is hard to believe. 😔
