Swiss glaciers disappearing at record speed due to climate change – BBC News
Swiss glaciers, which attract skiers and climbers and are essential to Europe’s water supply, have been disappearing at record speed.
A new study shows that Switzerland’s glaciers have lost more than half their volume in less than 100 years.
This year’s hot summer has accelerated the loss of ice.

Eight people have been killed and hundreds injured in protests in the occupied West Bank.
The number of Palestinians killed in confrontations with Israelis this year, in the area, is already more than 70 – the highest figure in five years.
The worst hotspot for violence has been in the Palestinian village of Beita, where locals began organising the recent protests after hard-line Jewish settlers set up a new outpost on land claimed by Palestinian olive farmers.

At least 734 people have died and more than 2,400 people are missing in Nepal, local officials say, after flash floods on Wednesday, triggered by a glacier collapse.
In Tibet, the official death toll is 16, with 546 reported to be missing, according to Chinese state media.
Nearly 20,000 security forces are deployed in rescue efforts on the Nepal-Tibet border as the UN says rough terrain and rain is making aid delivery “extremely difficult”.

Thirty US states are suing Meta for over $1 trillion, accusing it of knowingly designing Instagram and Facebook to be addictive and harmful to children, while concealing what it knew.

Yes, glaciers are melting due to climate change, but that does not prove it is man made climate change. Melting glaciers are reducing planets albedo meaning the earth absorbs more of the energy from the sun, causing an increase in temperature. Most of these glaciers were created during the last glaciation period and expanded during the little ice age.

What is currently happening with Europe's rivers is the same that will occur in the Swiss regions, also given deep subsurface permafrost melt factors. In Europe the aquifers are depleted and can no longer maintain the upward water pressure level to allow the rivers to flow at the surface, thus they are drying up or filling in the space of the depleted aquifers, below the water level ability and again the water pressure that a normal full aquifer system would have. Another scenario is fracking, pumping water through aquifers to force gas pockets into other areas for extraction, depending upon how deep those gas pockets are, even if below the water tables or aquifers, a water table-aquifer(s) could fill a deeper gas pocket(s) as a result of fracking, human error, changing the dynamics in the flow of many rivers, or lack of pressure for rivers to flow at the surface.
