Child migrants has been voted down, as will every other change proposed. No threat here.

You mean the government is in charge?
Sounds like our imperfect system is working as designed.

  8. @yogibbear

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Parliament have not "lost control". Labor have completely lost the plot and have proposed ridiculous amendments that are unnecessary and pointless. This was to make the "news" about their perspective or lack there of. No way would their amendment ever pass. Just another round for labor to stand up and complain with zero commitment to doing anything in parliament beyond being a waste of time and money.

  9. @fd5903

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

    You are super stupid Remainer.

  10. @benchapple1583

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Parliament votes for or against amendments and therefore loses power! How? Johnson doesn't decide on his own, he has to ask parliament. If they vote it through then that's it. How did they lose power? Did they lose power because the people voted for the Tories by a landslide? You seem to equate 'parliament losing power' with 'the Tories won a landslide'. ie. people voted.

  11. @Exiledk

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Labour shot themselves well and truly in their own foot, not to mention arse and elbow. They should be grown up enough to know they have nothing left to say of any meaning. Screw 'em. I'm fed up with lefty prevarication…

  12. @bennym8218

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Well the reason why it was included was because May was only half in brexit. She wasn't a true supporter of Brexit and those in parliament wanted to make sure future governments unless they had a clear majority, wouldn't be able to override the shit they had let out before

  13. @FaintKarmatic

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Thangam … a nice Irish girl. What a joke Labour is. Only the legacy media, leftwing you tube channels and senile British star trek actors want to stay in the EU

Sounds like bitter remoaners hoping to throw wrenches into Brexit to stay as EU as possible. Bye Felicia!

  18. @andrepettersson175

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Good riddance is all i have to say about it. Watching remoaners remoan harder after the election has been a great pleasure. Impotent whining at its finest.

  20. @Matteo_the_Plague_Doctor

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Labor lost a huge amount of its power because of belly aching over stupid stuff that regular brits don't give two shits about, so what do they do? Propose a stupid amendment designed to clog the process of getting brexit through, that forces the government to be concerned about the stupid shit that most brits don't care about.

    They never learn do they?

  21. @oyonggofomocci2078

  22. @6chhelipilot

  24. @ShiroNekoDen

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Controls they shouldn't have had in the first bloody place to begin with as negotiations are the sole purview of the government not Parliament.

  25. @ufologyexplored4634

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

It's all blah blah blah, Parliament had there chance months ago, they are crying over spilt milk. In my opinion probably 70-80% of links to the EU will remain especially on policing and securities, and all the others that are mutually beneficial.

  26. @Ian-gk7ne

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

It's no wonder that didnt pass!!

  27. @jakestewart5812

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

No deal brexit on the way – and still no brexit majority with the population of UK – how can this happen?

  28. @fwcolb

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Parliament has lost control! The majority for the Bill just passed was by a majority of 99. As we know, anyone who understands the UK Constitution knows, that the UK Government has traditionally had the power to negotiate treaties.
You need to have better arguments to convince me. The majority of democratically-elected MPs have voted and they have passed the Bill which will take the UK out of the EU. Time to accept the democratic process as it exists under the UK Constitution.

  29. @Smason432

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Not again. This reminds me of the parliamentary disputes in the democratic republic of niger 🇳🇪 or Nigeria 🇳🇬 or even Nicaragua 🇳🇮

  30. @krist2na

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Big yikes. Removing Parliament Powers is never good. It isn’t the voice of the majority that matters, it’s the voice of the whole that does. Hopefully this doesn’t come back to haunt those living in the UK.

  31. @rebeccadonaldson1464

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

There should be NO negotiations. We are LEAVING. END OF>

  32. @hellfirehellfyre6591

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Hon. Debonaire, with respect the British parliament has had more than three years to work out and negotiate those details with an EU and a business community that has been willing to negotiate to find a workable solution. The failure to do so is entirely the fault of the British parliament and is quite frankly as appalling as it is astounding.

  33. @iliveinurcloset

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

    Omgosh stop brexit

  34. @Nobumblegumforyou

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

The worst thing for our country was delaying brexit and talking about it.

Businesses refused to invest and the pound gets weaker. That's why you saw the pound rally significantly on the Conservative victory on a large majority.

We finally have some certainty and we have a government that can do its basic function. To govern and make new legislation. What we had before was a disaster and an embarrassment on the international stage.

  35. @brunobrizzi933

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

When you leave all deal you had with us will have to be renegotiated.
    Everyone.
    Be well.
    Bruno Brizzi Maccaferri.

  36. @ElectricInevitability

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Parliament overreached itself and a lot of MPs are rightly in the unemployment queue.

Parliament scrutinize they DON'T set government policy. That can NEVER happen again so the fixed term parliament act needs repealing

  37. @dannybatterbee2748

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Lol the Tories have the most seats they have full power. Lliterally have to tell all there members to vote the same..
I bet Gina Miller is looking up clauses to stop whatevers planned. Let's just see the republicans manifesto. See our rights deteriote even though it's proloteriote rule. Less laws.

  40. @quaritch9998

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Say please, say pretty, pretty please. That's nice, whatever, we have 364 MPs. Go away.

  42. @iWalkChris

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

There has been a general election. BAD LUCK. ITS CALLED DEMOCRACY! You lost, that’s how a majority works.

  45. @kasegiyabu5030

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

The executive was given a mandate by the UK electorate to take the UK out of the EU. The traitors in HoC want to control the negotiations, with the view to keeping the UK in EU. They were rebuffed, yet continue to attempt to thwart the process.

  46. @ryansmith9711

    January 4, 2024 at 11:25 am

Ms. Debbonaire was speaking awfully quickly…

  47. @darrenporter1850

    Losing control? No.
