Wayne reveals his eyebrow-raising Christmas dinner choices and what the big day is really like in the Rooney household, while the panel lifts the lid on how footballers actually spend Christmas.
Big Sam recalls the moment he discovered a West Ham player had gone home for Christmas and wasn’t coming back for the next game, and shares stories from an era when playing on Christmas Day – and drinking afterwards – was all part of the job.
Dion explains why some players deliberately stayed out of their manager’s way over the festive period, how he ended up releasing a Christmas album, and why he’s recently popped up on EastEnders.
There are also tales of expensive bottles of wine being demolished by Wayne’s father-in-law, bumping into the entire Liverpool squad in hospital, sunshine mid-season breaks to Dubai (including one Wayne missed), and a debate on whether having just one Premier League game on Boxing Day has ruined a great footballing tradition.
