Divisions over Ukraine war mar G20 talks – BBC News

Published

on

Divisions over Russia’s war in Ukraine have dominated G20 talks between nations – with no joint statement as a result.

The US secretary of state said the meeting had been marred by Russia’s “unprovoked and unjustified war”.

Russia’s foreign minister accused the West of “blackmail and threats”.

India, which hosted the talks, had wanted to focus on other issues affecting developing nations, but it said the differences over Ukraine “could not be reconciled”.

“We tried, but the gap between the countries was too much,” India’s foreign minister S Jaishankar said.

As long as the west maintains the ridiculous lie that the invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked, we cannot be taken seriously. Nobody is buying in to that massive lie.

With the dollar in decline and inflation rising around the world, Japan starts a race to buy gold.

That's just for the G7, for the others outside the group, the United States comes with a recessive package, indicating that they should stay with their bells inside a barrel full of shit, waiting for the order to submerge.

A written comment on the video, stated that "Putin showed Zero Interest in Peace negotiations." Which I find odd. as it was Putin who organised the Minsk-1 Peace talks-2014 and the Minsk-2-peace talks-2015 and it was Putin who organised the Belarus and Istanbul Peace talks-2022, Which is 3 from 3, while it was Ukraine and NATO who breached Minsk-1 & 2 for eight years, set up 30+ Bioweapons facilities in Ukraine and shelled Donbass for eight years killing 15,000 civilians, then Angela Merkel and Zelensky both admitting publicly that they were NEVER going to adhere to the peace plans they had agreed to. they were merely buying time to arm and traine the Ukraine military while fortifying towns and Villages throughout Ukraine while they provoked Russia into a war, which they thought they would win easily as the US backed Mujahideen did back in the 1980's. Instead they had the Russians easily roll up to kiev, only to have Putin yet again attempt more peace negotiations which NATO scrapped, flying Boris Johnson to Kiev to tell Zelensky. Zelensky went on to pass a law that Ukraine could not negotiate with Russia while Putin was in Power and that he would never have adhered to the latest peace plan anyway. In the latest discussions on a cease fire and peace negotiations, in Ukraine posed by China (who have just patched up the Middle east in a few short months). It has been every member of the whitehouse who has said that any talk of a Ceasefire or peace talks were out of the question, as they cement Russia's gains in Ukraine?
Even though Blind Freddie can see that Ukraine is out of ammunition, vastly out gunned and has suffered devastating losses already. Ukraine has the opportunity to be an integral part of the BRI. which gives them the ability to have China Russia and the west come together to rebuild their country and work together. The Proxy war has been lost, Ukraine has been through the equivilant of two full armies worth of weapons ammunition and troops, to reconstitute another cobbled together army of untrained troops on mutiple & varied weapons systems that are a fraction of what Russia has been building up, is nothing but suicide, without any thought for the future of Ukraine or it's future generations.

If the West sends Ukraine unlimited fire power and Putin begins to lose the war would he use nuclear weapons? If the answer is yes then who wins in that scenario? There will be automated mutual destruction. I think someone had better start talking or we will be wasting our time. Unless like the important people you have a three bed bunker.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

Published

on

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

New explosions near Iranian port cities, says state media | BBC News

Published

on

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.

It comes after another night of strikes between the US and Iran, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it hit two UAE tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted US facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.

The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.

Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

on

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Sarah Smith in Washington.
