Iranian and US forces race to find missing American airman after fighter jet shot down | BBC News
An American fighter jet has been shot down over Iran, sparking a major search and rescue operation by US forces inside the country. Iran has issued a reward for capture of a missing crew member.
What’s believed to be an F-15 Strike Eagle went down in the south-west of Iran. It’s understood that the pilot has been rescued by US forces, but the fate of the second member of the jet’s aircrew is not yet clear.
Iranian state television has been showing pictures of what it says is debris from the jet – and has broadcast an offer of a reward for anyone who captures the downed US crew member alive.
President Trump has been briefed on the situation. There are reports a second jet – an A-10 Warthog – crashed after coming under fire – while assisting in the first rescue. The pilot ejected to safety.

Scott Galloway on the fight for US men | Americast
There was a gender divide in the US in 2024 and one of the criticisms of the failed Democrat presidential campaign was that they appealed to women and largely ignored men.
So, with the midterms coming up, and the 2028 battle lines being drawn, how much is are political conversations going to centre around who can attract the male vote?
Justin’s been talking to a man who’s been thinking about that very question.

Russian drone hits Romanian apartment block | BBC News
A Russian drone hit an apartment block in Romania causing a fire and wounding two people, officials say.
The incident happened on Friday in the town of Galati – close to Romania’s eastern border with Ukraine and Moldova.
Nato Secretary General Mark Rutte said “Russia’s reckless behaviour is a danger to us all”, while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Russia’s “war of aggression had crossed yet another line”.
Russian drones have strayed across Romania’s border a number of times during the four-year war with Ukraine, but it is the first time citizens from the Nato country have been hurt. Russia has yet to comment on the incident.
