Donald Trump warns ‘there will likely be more’ US deaths in Iran conflict | BBC News
US President Donald Trump has posted a video statement on Truth Social saying the US will “deliver the most punishing blow” to the Iranian regime.
The president warned “there will likely be more” US deaths after three service members were killed.
He said “combat operations” against Iran will continue “until all of our objectives are achieved”.
It comes after Israel and the US struck Iran on Saturday, killing the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Israeli military now says it has launched additional strikes on Tehran.
Meanwhile, new Iranian strikes have been reported across the Middle East.

Andy Burnham to become UK prime minister and pledge political stability in No 10 speech | BBC News
Andy Burnham will become the UK’s prime minister today, replacing Keir Starmer .
Starmer will deliver his final address as PM later this morning, before he and Burnham visit King Charles in Buckingham Palace.
The new prime minister will then give his own speech in Downing Street – he will promise “more breathing room” for Britain, while arguing for a more “stable and responsible” politics.
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch wished the new PM “every success” – but warns he is entering Downing Street without a “clear plan”.

Protests have been taking place in several Ukrainian cities against President Volodymyr Zelensky’s surprise dismissal of popular Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
A crowd of people – mostly young – gathered in Kyiv on Thursday morning, holding up signs reading “Hands off Fedorov” and “Stop sabotaging victory!” and chanting “Shame!”.
Zelensky’s decision has causing significant upset among commentators and the military as well as parts of civil society.
The rumours that the end of Fedorov’s tenure was related to tensions between him and Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi were all but confirmed by Fedorov himself and Zelensky.
