Mission to grow food in space to cut astronauts’ eating bill | BBC News
Steak, mashed potatoes and desserts for astronauts could soon be grown from individual cells in space if an experiment from scientists is deemed successful.
A European Space Agency (ESA) project has assessed the viability of growing so-called lab-grown food in low gravity and higher radiation in orbit and on other worlds.
ESA is funding the research to explore new ways of reducing the cost of feeding an astronaut, which can cost up to £20,000 per day.

US strikes hit Iran for seventh consecutive night | BBC News
The US military said it carried out a seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran, targeting military infrastructure after President Donald Trump declared the temporary ceasefire was “over”.
Iran said it responded by attacking US allies in the region, with Kuwait reporting damage to another of its power and water plant, while Jordan and Bahrain said they intercepted Iranian missiles.
Since Trump declared the ceasefire to be over, the US has attacked Iranian sites and re-imposed a naval blockade of Iranian ports, while Iran has declared the Strait closed to shipping and traffic has largely stopped.
