Calls for ‘justice’ on Alexei Navalny death anniversary | BBC News

Published

Two years to the day since the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny in a Siberian prison, floral tributes have been left in Moscow by supporters.

The UK and allies have blamed the Kremlin following analysis of material samples found on his body, which shows he was killed using a poison developed from a dart frog toxin.

According to Tass news agency, Moscow has dismissed the finding as “an information campaign”, but UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said there is no explanation for the toxin, called epibatidine, being found.

Markiplier: ‘Iron Lung broke world record for amount of blood’ | BBC News

Published

on

Iron Lung is YouTuber Markiplier’s debut sci‑fi horror film, based on the hit indie game where a convict explores an ocean made entirely of blood – alone. The movie debuted with a $17.8M opening weekend, climbing past $43M worldwide.

Markiplier wrote, directed, financed, and starred in the film, and he’s been open about the production’s wildest challenge: using more fake blood than any movie before it. As a result, real‑world blood donation drives took place across the US, with fans lining up to give blood after screenings.

Markiplier worked closely with game creator David Szymanski to keep the world authentic, relying heavily on physical effects. He spoke to Newsbeat’s Naomi de Souza about the film and its challenges.
